Santa Clara City has placed a proposed Emergency Services Sales and Use Tax of up to 1% on the November 2026 General Election ballot. The measure asks voters whether the City should be authorized to collect an additional sales and use tax dedicated to funding fire protection and emergency medical services provided by Santa Clara – Ivins Fire & Rescue.
If approved, the additional tax would apply to taxable transactions within Santa Clara City, not throughout Washington County. Revenue would be restricted to eligible emergency services expenses under state law. The proposed tax would be in addition to existing sales taxes and would not replace the City’s current funding sources.
