Santa Clara’s Annual Swiss Days Celebration returns September 24–26, 2026! This beloved hometown tradition honors our Swiss pioneer heritage with three days of community fun, including the community dinner, 5K, parade, live entertainment, and local vendor booths. Sponsor and vendor applications are now closed, and we sincerely thank all of this year’s participating sponsors and vendors for helping make Swiss Days possible. The Cow Order Form is still open, giving families and businesses the opportunity to join this cherished tradition by decorating a cow to display at their home, business, or along Santa Clara Drive throughout September. Early bird registration for the 5K is open through September 11. View the full schedule below and visit our website for applications, details, and updates. Washington County recently experienced a power outage caused by a regional transformer issue with PacifiCorp that temporarily interrupted our main power supply. While temperatures are expected to cool, recent system conditions make it especially important to reduce energy use during the late-afternoon and evening peak period, from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Small changes in when and how we use electricity can help reduce demand and support a reliable power system for our community. When possible, please run high-energy appliances such as laundry machines and dishwashers during off-peak hours; raise your thermostat a few degrees and use energy-saving settings on smart thermostats; avoid using the oven by cooking outdoors or using smaller appliances; turn off unnecessary lights and unplug electronics when not in use; close blinds and curtains to block direct sunlight; keep exterior doors closed to help retain cool air; and use fans wisely by turning them off when you leave the room. Every small change adds up. By shifting energy-intensive activities outside the 3:00–7:00 p.m. peak period, we can help conserve energy, reduce demand, and support reliable power for our community. The Santa Clara City Council will hold a Public Hearing at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday September 9, 2026. in the City Council Chambers of the Town Hall located at 2603 Santa Clara Dr. Santa Clara, UT. 84765.



The purpose of the Public Hearing is to receive public input on the following items:

1. Regarding abandonment of a Flood Control Easement on parcel SC-6-2-16-345.
2. Regarding updating the Construction Design Standard to add Low Pressure Sewer.
3. Regarding a Single Event Liquor License for Bank of Utah PGA held at Black Desert Resort.

Citizens of Santa Clara are encouraged to attend the meeting where they will be given the opportunity to express any concerns they may have with the proposed action. In compliance with the American with Disabilities Act, individuals needing special accommodations (including auxiliary Communicative aids and services) during this hearing should notify the City Recorder, Selena Nez at 673-6712, ext. 203 at least 24 hours prior to the hearing.

On July 4, 2026, Santa Clara will join the rest of the nation to commemorate and celebrate the 250th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence. Throughout 2026, Santa Clara will host monthly lectures and activities to celebrate this historic event. These events are planned to help Educate, Engage and Unite our community, state and nation. “The U.S. Constitution: Miracle in Philadelphia” Featuring Judge John Walton

Explore how the Constitutional Convention of 1787 forged a nation through compromise and created the foundation of the United States government. Judge John Walton is a retired Fifth District Court Judge who has called Santa Clara home for the past 30 years. Join us for this engaging look at one of the most important moments in American history as we celebrate America’s 250th anniversary.

Meet Officer Brayton Tobler

Officer Tobler graduated from the Utah Peace Officer Standards and Training Academy (POST) in Salt Lake City at the end of July.During his training, he developed a keen interest in communityoriented policing. Understanding the scrutiny police face today, Tobler emphasizes the importance of recognizing personal biases that influence interactions. By treating community members with respect, officers can foster better understanding of the law, ultimately enhancing public safety. Inspired by his parents’ commitment to serve, Tobler aims to innovate policing methods to better protect and assist those in need. He looks forward to collaborating with fellow officers who share a dedication to service and strives for personal and professional growth while making a meaningful impact in the community he is privileged to serve.

Meet Officer Laynce Bartruff

Laynce had always dreamed of becoming a police officer. He eventually decided to enroll in the police academy to pursue that goal, beginning a career in law enforcement driven by his passion for helping others and making a positive difference in his community. With 16 years of experience as a police officer, Laynce has served in a variety of roles throughout his career. He has worked with the Washington County Drug Task Force and Washington County Bomb Squad, served as a Police Sergeant, and worked as part of an Explosive Detection K9 unit alongside his partner, Forrest. One of the aspects of his career that Laynce enjoys most is working with people and helping them navigate difficult times. He is looking forward to sharing the knowledge and experience he has gained throughout his career to support his fellow officers and serve the residents of the Santa Clara-Ivins community.

Meet K9 Forest

We are excited to welcome K9 Forest to our team. Forest is a bomb detection K9 originally from Hungary. He has had an impressive service record, having been deployed three times to Afghanistan and once to Jordan while working with another government agency.

These three are still patiently waiting for their perfect matches to come along! We know their people are out there. Although they may be a little shy when meeting new people, with a little time and patience, you'll discover just how sweet, loving, and loyal they are. Building trust with them is incredibly rewarding; once you're in their circle, you'll have a friend for life. They do well with other dogs, but they prefer to enjoy their meals by themselves. If you're looking for a loyal companion and are willing to let them warm up at their own pace, one of these boys could be the perfect fit for your family.
