Help Us Reach Our $40,000 Contribution Goal
Because children come to the DCCAC to tell their stories, we are able to identify survivors of sexual abuse. Our goal is to offer each of these children advocacy and therapy as they begin their healing journey. Please help us offer advocacy and therapy to Delco Children!

Family Support Line and the Delaware County Children's Advocacy Center Acknowledge
Media Real Estate and Loyal Donors

n Monday, November 21, 2016 Family Support Line hosted a special
Thanks for Giving
event to thank donors and supporters of Family Support Line and the Delaware County Children's Advocacy Center (DCCAC). At the event, we acknowledged Media Real Estate for its donation of space within Family Support Line's office in Media that is being used for the DCCAC Partner's Room.
Media Real Estate leases space to Family Support Line and the DCCAC for interviews, advocacy, therapy and administration. Media Real Estate donates space utilized for the Partner's Room. A plaque is displayed in the Partner's Room acknowledging Media Real Estate's generosity and "giving children a safe place to tell their stories." Family Support Line relies on "in kind" space so families have a safe and comfortable experience during the investigation of child sexual abuse reports.
Pat Kosinski, Executive Director, said "Media Real Estate has been a key partner in supporting our mission. We were glad to be able to recognize the company publicly at this special event."
"We are extremely grateful to the partners and Media Real Estate," said District Attorney Jack Whelan. "As a result of their generosity, members of the CAC and law enforcement can continue to do their job of protecting and serving Delaware County children in a safe and secure environment and ultimately help bring justice to their families.

FSL/DCCAC Announces Blog
Often, at Family Support Line, we focus on the dangers of the internet, social media and connections made online. But these same tools have offered us a path to reach parents, professionals, donors and community members in a new way.
Working with the problem of sexual abuse, we understand the difficulty in talking about this issue. But we also know that the more ways we are able to reach people, and talk about abuse, the better chance we have to prevent abuse and help survivors through their healing journey.
Through the years we used various means to get prevention and treatment information to children, parents and professionals. For our Community Connection Blog,
we want to reach more community members and share our own experiences and the knowledge of professionals in our office. They hear the stories every day, they lead the trainings, they are experts we are proud to have. Each has different perspectives and experiences we hope can impact you to build a safe environment for our children.

Help a child by simply forwarding to a friend.
While the holidays are a time for joy and celebration, for families who have experienced trauma this can also be a time that brings up painful memories. Between the demands of family, work and holiday errands, it can be difficult to catch your breath. As we head into this hectic season, it's important to remember to care not just for others but for ourselves as well. Here are some tips:
- Plan positive activities
- Don't be afraid to say "no"
- Don't have high expectations
- Prioritize
- Surround yourself with people you trust
- Don't Compare
