Santa Fe Chapter | Newsletter | November 2020
Santa Fe TTN is organized and led entirely by volunteers.
COORDINATOR'S CORNER
We are excited to announce that Kelly Chisholm will be the new Chapter Coordinator beginning November 15. (See Kelly’s bio under the Chapter News section later in this newsletter). Thank you, Kelly, for stepping up! We look forward to working with you.

—The Santa Fe Chapter Steering Committee
I am incredibly excited to take on the role of Coordinator of the Santa Fe Chapter of The Transition Network. I’ve heard so many wonderful things about past Coordinators, I know I have big shoes to fill! And I am up to the challenge, because one thing that I am always passionate about is connections, and that is what TTN Santa Fe is all about.

I especially love the motto of TTN— to CONNECT, DISCOVER and IMPACT. In our current times and environments, it is more important than ever to remember these values, as we struggle to connect with one another in new and different ways that can sometimes feel impersonal. To discover positive, engaging ways of connecting both virtually and in person, and to impact those around us-—in our local chapter, our local communities and our national organization is crucial to our health as an organization.

We have an incredible ride ahead of us, as the world changes before our eyes. Let us be a part of the positive, impactful solutions that we know can happen, and grow our fantastic group so that we can support even more women in the future. I look forward to sharing the ride with you this year!
—Kelly Chisholm
NOVEMBER MONTHLY MEETING
MONDAY • NOVEMBER 16 • 6:00-7:30 PM
PROGRAM: THE GIFT OF GRATITUDE
Online via Zoom (see link below)
During the month of Thanksgiving, it is customary to pause and give thanks. This year, this may seem like asking a lot. COVID restrictions prevent us from physically gathering around a table and feasting together. Uncertainty reigns. During this extraordinarily unique time in human history, when the voices of fear and worry are loudest in our minds, how can we find peace and ease, to cultivate a sense of deep and honest gratitude?

Join Willamarie Moore to do just that. Give yourself the gift of an evening to experience mindfulness practices that will yield tools you can use immediately afterwards and benefit from for months to come.
Willamarie Moore is a life balance coach and founder of WAYiN, LLC. Based on her daily practices in Writing + Art + Yoga + Nature and through her personal experiences of transition and transformation, she has developed a unique set of strategies to help people “go WAYiN to find the way out”—to return to a state of balance and begin to navigate their own transitions and personal transformations. Find out more about her work at http://willamariemoore.com/
Open to TTN members and non-members!

LIVING ALONE DURING THE PANDEMIC: PRACTICING DEEP SELF-CARE
Online via Zoom (see link below)
We will address any topic which the group is wanting to explore. If no topic is identified, we will explore some tools for addressing loneliness by deepening your relationship with yourself. After all, as we become more loving and accepting towards ourselves, we are more capable of enjoying time alone while also becoming better friends and companions to those around us.

I will offer a guided meditation as appropriate. The intention is for each of us to leave with our own simple plan for practicing deep self-care.

Open to TTN members and non-members!

Host: Stefany G. Burrowes, PCC

BOOK DISCUSSION: “TURN OF MIND”
BY AUTHOR ALICE LAPLANTE
Online via Zoom (see link below)
Jennifer, a brilliant former surgeon in the early grips of Alzheimer's, is accused of murdering her best friend. As police investigate the murder, Jennifer becomes the prime suspect. However, she herself doesn’t recall whether or not she committed the crime. Is her memory preventing her from revealing the truth, or helping her to hide it?

“Turn of Mind’ will be filmed as a movie starring Annette Bening and Michelle Pfeiffer. This page-turner was a New York Times hardcover bestseller and named a Best Book of the Year by the Chicago Tribune, The Washington Post, Newsday, The Guardian, and Kirkus Reviews. More than four copies can be found at the Santa Fe Library System, along with several Large Print ones. I can share my copy with anyone. New and used paperbacks may be found in local bookstores and online.

Open to TTN members and non-members!

SANTA FE TTN - GIVING FROM THE HEART
We are proud to announce that the Santa Fe Chapter of TTN has started a Community Outreach program. The intention is to allow our members an opportunity to give back to our community as a group in order to have a more substantial impact. November is the month of giving and what better month to get this project underway! We hope that our generous chapter members will join us in support of Esperanza Shelter.

Esperanza Shelter is our choice for the first in what we hope will be a long line of benefactors. Esperanza Shelter’s mission is to shelter those threatened by domestic violence and to support healthy relationships.

The need is significant! Everything we can do to help is greatly appreciated! Due to COVID, we can’t volunteer our time, but that doesn’t mean that we can’t have an impact. They are in need of:
  • New pajamas (both women’s and children’s sizes)
  • Diapers, wipes and toiletries
  • Gift cards for essentials (Target, Walmart, Grocery Stores, etc.)
  • Gift cards for transportation (gas cards and Uber/Lyft gift cards)
  • Monetary donations – Checks may be written to Esperanza Shelter and either dropped off at one of the locations below or mailed to: Esperanza Shelter Support Center, 3130 Rufina Street, Santa Fe, NM 87507. Please indicate The Transition Network Santa Fe Chapter in the memo line to indicate that it is part of our group effort.

Deadline for receiving donations is November 15.

For safety and convenience, three of our members have agreed to be drop off locations for your donations. Please contact them directly to make arrangements for a drop off.
