Santa Fe Chapter | Newsletter | August 2018
Santa Fe TTN is organized and led entirely by volunteers.
COORDINATOR'S CORNER
This summer seems to be flying by in a blur of activity. It’s all good, very good – eating outdoors, listening to live music, getting together with new friends, and enjoying my first Santa Fe summer in so many ways. As we head into August and what is traditionally the end of summer, I am beginning to feel the pull of something different. I am feeling the need to take a step back from the constant activity, to give myself some space and time to rest and relax and to let go of busyness for a while. As the summer winds down, it feels like a good time to allow some unscheduled time for self-care, for savoring quiet moments and appreciating my life just as it is.

Taking some time for ourselves, whether an hour or two, a day or even more, is a healing elixir in our constantly connected, sometimes chaotic, warp-speed world. We need the balance of downtime in our lives – time to let go of stress and too many things on the to-do list. As we experience the fullness of summer here in the high desert, I invite you to take some time for yourself doing something that feeds your soul. Find a way to slow down and luxuriate in some time just for yourself. This isn’t selfish, it is essential! By finding ways to rest, relax and simply savor the moments of our lives, we return from those breaks from busyness restored and energized and better able to share ourselves with the world.

Give yourself the gift of downtime and the healing power of rest and relaxation. Watch the clouds roll in over the mountains and just breathe. You will be glad you did!
“Smile, breathe, and go slowly.” – Thich Nhat Hanh

MONTHLY MEETING
NETWORK WITH THE TERRIFIC WOMEN
OF TTN'S SANTA FE CHAPTER!
Monday, August 27, 2018
5:45-7:30 pm
Our August speaker, Maia Duerr, has been called away unexpectedly and will be presenting to us at a later date. So instead of a talk in August, let's party! Come and enjoy a relaxed, fun, late summer potluck and networking event!
Our TTN schedule is always filled with interesting news and speakers. But with a sudden change in plans, let's use the August meeting to network, reconnect with old friends, make new acquaintances, share stories, and learn about what’s happening at TTN!

All are welcome – Bring your favorite simple appetizer — FINGER FOOD ONLY, PLEASE! -- and a favorite NON-ALCOHOLIC beverage to share, if you wish. It's summer, so keep it simple!
