May 2017

Santa Fe TTN is organized and led entirely by volunteers.
Co-Coordinators' Corner
Rachel Greenstein & Robin Sarkissian
Two weeks ago, more than 50 women gathered to celebrate the 5th Anniversary of the Santa Fe chapter of The Transition Network with TTN's Executive Director, Susan Collins as our featured speaker. Susan shared several examples about the great difference TTN has made in the lives of so many of our members, including her own, and asked audience members to share some of theirs.

At other times during her visit, Susan met with our Steering Committee and several members-at-large to help us plan for the future. As the organization's Executive Director of more than three years, and as a  very active member of the Philadelphia chapter, Susan has gained an abundance of knowledge of most aspects of all 13 of TTN's chapters. She worked with us to learn what our goals and hopes are for the chapter and offered valuable suggestions. This was a good celebration coupled with a lot of creative thinking.

Despite a crazy big spring snowstorm, a number of us braved the weather to volunteer at our table for the annual Women's Health Fair at DeVargas Center and to greet quite a few people who came to learn about the various exhibitors. With all the new stores, the mall and fair were more festive than usual and we introduced many new women to TTN.

We encourage those who haven't been to a program in a few months to come to our May presentation by Karen Lievense who speaks with humor about her subject.

May Monthly Meeting
Why SIMPLICITY is
the New LUXURY!

Monday, May 22
5.45-7:30 pm

For many of us, two of the greatest gifts we have now in our lives are time and ease. I believe that cultivating simplicity, especially in our homes, enables us to be inspired by humble beauty, discover our inner artist, let go of unnecessary possessions, and create a serene living environment. This is also a fun process of self-discovery!  Please join me as we explore the world of everyday simplicity, and the many gifts it yields.

OUR BEST PARTY EVER!

Over fifty members, former members and friends attended the Santa Fe Chapter's Five Year Anniversary party April 17.
It was our best party ever, from the artfully displayed and delectable appetizers to the gorgeous gift basket raffle prizes and the centerpiece bouquets with pink roses and purple tulips.

TTN's Executive Director, Susan Collins, joined us and shared her experience of finding a new career at TTN and member stories such as the transition peer group that decided to study Spanish then went to Spain together. At the end of the evening, we shared cake and champagne or sparkling cider and toasted the chapter's success.

We were delighted with the camaraderie and enthusiasm of the event and we thank our Steering Committee and Membership Committee members for their contributions. Special thanks to our Co- Coordinators, Rachel Greenstein for arranging the catering, and Robin Sarkissian for the lovely gift baskets and bouquets, wine and champagne.
