Princess Day
Tuesday, November 20th 10am-2pm
Don't miss your chance to meet Princess Jasmine, Princess Tiana, Rapunzel and Pocahontas. Create flower crowns, knight swords and train to be a kn ight. All adults and children are encouraged to wear their finest royal clothes!  
In celebration of Native American Heritage Month, Pocahontas will be our special guest princess and the Chikawa Aztec Dancers will be presenting a special cultural performance.

Join us for this cultural celebration of National Native American Heritage Month honoring and recognizing the original people of this great land. 

The Carranza Puppets
Friday, November 23rd 11am and 12:30pm
Carranza Puppets will perform "Santa Claus is Coming to Town ". Each performance will feature  a hand-held puppet show with favorite holiday characters. Learn more  here .

Santa Social with a 
Peppermint Twist
Saturday, December 8th 8am-11am
Families can take home a personal photo and visit with Santa, enjoy a light breakfast, join a scavenger hunt, take an imaginary trip to the North Pole,   create holiday art projects, visit with Elsa from "Frozen" and  delight  in performances of Le Theatre de Marionette's "Peppermint Twist." 
$30 children, $15 Adult, $15 children under one.

Author Visit with Thom and Nancy Binford
Friday, December 14th  11am-12:30pm
The Binfords will be reading their book,  "The Last Christmas Tree" at 11am followed by a meet-and-greet, where they will sell and sign their book until 12:30pm. Will the last tree on the Christmas tree lot find a home?
"The Last Christmas Tree", written by Thom Binford and illustrated by his wife, Nancy, is the enchanting holiday story of a not-so -handsome tree hoping to find a home Christmas Eve Night.

Drop and Shop Workshops
Thursday, December 20th and Friday, December 21st 
While you do that last minute shopping and wrapping, let the museum's little elves host your children in a festive holiday workshop. Children create and embellish individual projects that they can use to give as gifts or keep in the family as part of family treasures. Our workshop is complete with cookies and
milk. Please send a packed lunch for your child.

Mrs. Claus' Gingerbread House Workshop
Friday, Dec. 21st and Saturday, Dec. 22nd  10am-2pm
Children are invited to transform graham crackers, candy and frosting into architectural masterpieces during Mrs. Claus' Gingerbread House Workshop. Mrs. Claus herself will visit with children to lend a bit of guidance and encouragement as they build. $5 in addition to the cost of admission. 

Children's Singer/Songwriter Joe McDermott
Thursday, December 27th  11:30am, 12:30pm, 1:30pm, 2:30pm
Referred to as "a Texas treasure" by the State Library Association, Joe McDermott released his first album of children's music in 1988.
A former Montessori teacher, Joe has dedicated the last 30 years to honing the art and craft of entertaining children. His song writing has garnered numerous Parents' Choice Awards and nominations, in addition to NAPPA and International Song Writing Contest awards. 

High Noon Countdown
Monday, December 31st  9am-10:30am, 11:30am-1pm, 2pm-3:30pm
The New Year's Eve party designed for the little ones! "Pop" in the
New Year with us as we celebrate making New Year hats and creative art projects. $8 Non Members, $4 for Members and children under one are free but require a ticket. Pre-purchase of admission is advised. Museum is only open for the three High Noon Countdown times.
