Friendswood Fine Arts Institute thanks everyone who decorated, entered, and voted.

The winner of the Holiday Lighting Contest is 2008 North Mission Circle.

Finalists are: 603 Falling Leaf Drive, 1804 Sandy Lake Drive, 16606 Barcelona Drive, 1208 White Wing Circle, and 810 West Stadium.

How to give a Pet as a Gift

Since the holiday season is a time of giving, you may be considering giving a pet as a gift. The dogs and cats at Friendswood Animal Control may be an option.

Library Book Sale going on now

Until December 30 (except December 25 and 26), the Friendswood Library Book Sale is underway during normal library hours.

Sale items include books, movies, audiobooks, music, and magazines for all ages. All proceeds go toward supporting library programming. 

Garbage and Recycling Service Holidays

Waste Connections of Texas will be closed on Christmas Day, Monday, December 25, and New Year’s Day, Monday, January 1. Garbage and recycling services will not occur on these days. No make-up days will occur following the holidays. 

Garbage and recycling services will resume on the next regularly scheduled pick-up day following the holidays.
Christmas Tree Disposal

Undecorated Christmas trees placed at curbside by 7 a.m. on customer’s regular green waste pick-up day (1 st garbage pick-up day of the week) will be collected by the green waste trucks.
Decorated Christmas trees placed at curbside by 7 a.m. on customer’s garbage pick-up days will be picked up by the trash trucks.
Friendswood City Hall closures

City Hall will be closed on December 25 and 26 for the Christmas holidays, and January 1 for the New Year's Holiday.
