Public Works requests amendment to
Del Mar Avenue sewer rehabilitation project
Back in February 2017, the City Council approved an agreement with Civiltec Engineering Inc. to provide engineering design services for the Del Mar Avenue sewer rehabilitation project with a purchase order of $245,836.30 would replace the sewer main and reconstruct pavement along Del Mar Avenue between Chestnut Avenue and Dewey Avenue.

Community Academy Breakout Session
held tomorrow at City Hall
Our next Community Academy Breakout Session takes place tomorrow at City Hall from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Learn more about theft, robbery, extortion and scams in this informal meeting.

Arminé Chaparyan appointed new Assistant City Manager/Community Development Director
The City of San Gabriel has announced that Community Development Director Arminé Chaparyan has been appointed as the City’s Assistant City Manager, reporting to City Manager Mark Lazzaretto. In her new position, Chaparyan will oversee several special projects and will also serve as Acting City Manager in the City Manager’s absence.

As Assistant City Manager/Community Development Director, Chaparyan will continue to oversee the Community Development Department in addition to her new responsibilities, which includes the City’s Building & Safety/Neighborhood Improvement Services, Economic Development and Planning divisions.

San Gabriel residents are encouraged to shop local this holiday season and throughout the year. From December 17 to December 21, follow us on Instagram for holiday shopping ideas. Five San Gabriel businesses have been selected to participate in the holiday shopping campaign, including Jones Bicycles II, Edible Arrangements, Cute In Cozy, Gemorie, and Gazebo Gifts.

To be entered into the prize drawing is easy as 1-2-3! First, visit one of the participating stores. Then, take a picture with Gabriel and/or Gabby the Elf at the store. Finally, post your picture on Instagram and tag us to be entered in the drawing for a $50 Visa Card! The winner will be randomly selected on Instagram Live on Friday, December 21 at 5:00 p.m.
Older adults to celebrate the
holidays at the Adult Recreation Center
San Gabriel’s older adults will be treated to lunch and festive holiday entertainment on Thursday, December 13 at the Adult Recreation Center at 324 South Mission Drive in San Gabriel. During lunch, carolers will serenade our guests with holiday favorites.

Dial-A-Ride fee waived during the month of December
In honor of the holiday season, the $.50 ridership fee for Dial-A-Ride users is waived during the month of December. This generous holiday gift was made possible by the City Council which approved the annual waiver of this fee.

The Community Services Department provides Dial-A-Ride transportation for City residents 62 years and older and disabled residents. Dial-A-Ride service is available from 7:00 a.m. until 7:00 p.m. seven days a week.
