August 2021
Dear Community,

It's true that every week you'll find something new and surprising at our Market - new Vendors, new friends, new pups!

And this week is no different. We are excited to bring you two new Vendors to add to our already stellar line-up. Did you know? All of our Vendors go through an extensive vetting process - so when visitors come to our Market, they know they are getting the best of the best!

Keep reading to learn more about our new additions and don't forget to check out our Vendor Map to find all of your longtime favorites, too. As always, we appreciate your support and remind you that shopping at the Sarasota Farmers Market supports dozens of small, local businesses who are grateful for your support.

We'll see you Saturday!

New Vendors
You haven't had a real chicken pot pie until you've had a MawMaw’s Chicken Pie. It’s an award-winning, multigenerational recipe since 1923. Once you try it, you will be back for more!

These 9 inch pot pies are Freezer to Oven, so they are the perfect take home item to eat later on in the week when life gets busy.

They are truly homemade, just like Mama used to make! Only better! Each pie is loaded with over a pound of all white meat shredded chicken, peas, carrots, corn, green beans, and a sauce that gives it just the right consistency. Then they are topped with a flaky crust which bakes to a beautiful golden brown. Pop them in the oven at 400 degrees for 60 minutes and you have one of the best tasting chicken pies in town.

MawMaw’s currently offers three different pies: Chicken with Veggies, Chicken Only, and Kickin Chicken (Spicy!).

MawMaw's Chicken Pies will be located on State Street.
In the past decade, Cameron Curry has worked as a Private Chef, and has always been influenced in his cooking from travel and experiencing vibrant cultures from around the world. Like many others, the global pandemic greatly affected his line of work. However, quarantine gave him an opportunity to dive deeper into his passions for nature. What he learned and enjoyed about house plant cultivation on social media led him to this niche market where he truly belongs.

Market Botany started on the patio of his apartment in March of this year by selling cuttings from his personal plant collection. Only six short months later, they are now a licensed 9000 sq. ft. nursery - growing over 300 species of plants, a full line of plant care products, and a booth at the Sarasota Farmers Market. They couldn't be more thrilled to share the love of plants with Sarasota!

Market Botany will be located on State Street.
Featured Non-Profit
Manatee High's Dance Team will be here again to raise money to perform in the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade in November. Please be sure to stop by and visit with them about this once in a lifetime adventure!

The Dance Team will be located near the Market Music Tent, at the intersection of Lemon Ave and State Street.
Blood Bus
SunCoast Blood Centers will be collecting donations at the Market this week to provide a reliable supply of quality blood products and services to local hospitals in need. Save lives in our community by donating blood.

The blood bus will be located on Lemon Ave, north of 1st Street.
Entertainment this Week
After tying the knot in 2016, Drew and Sarah picked up and left from their hometown of Huntington, WV for a bright future on the Gulf Coast. These 20-somethings love to mix it up, covering everyone from Ella Fitzgerald to Dave Matthews Band to Lizzo.

Drew and Sarah will be performing at the intersection of Lemon Ave and State St in front of The Mark entrance, 9:00am - 12:30pm.
