June 2021
Dear Community,

Thanks to all who came out and celebrated PRIDE with us last Saturday. Like every week at our Market, it was a unique and memorable day, bringing together many different parts of our vibrant and diverse community.

This week, the Market happens to fall on a very special day - Juneteenth, which was recently declared a federal holiday. To honor this occasion, we are featuring two wonderful local non-profits who support and celebrate our local African-American community. (And after the Market - make sure to stop by the Newtown Juneteenth Celebration!)

It also happens to be Father's Day weekend! What better way to celebrate Dad than to spend the morning with him at the Market - or perhaps to pick up the perfect gift to surprise him on Sunday. Remember that whatever you decide, your purchases at the Market directly impact our local economy, and community, and we are so grateful for your support.

See you on Saturday!

Vendor Spotlight
OhHi Guitar Works is running a Father's Day special with a full setup for $70, which is 30% off! Plus, they are continuing to give away their "Celebrate Diversity" shirt with any purchase. Bring dad's guitar down for onsite service or pick up a gift card for it and let Dad choose when he wants to have the service done. Stop by their booth and get Dad's (or your) instrument playing its best!

OhHi Guitar Works is located on State Street.
Treat Dad to a bicycle tune up. Just bring his bike down and drop it off with The Bicycle Mechanic. While you eat breakfast or continue to shop for a locally made Father's Day gift, Miguel will complete the tune up on site. Just pick the bike up when you're ready to leave.

The Bicycle Mechanic is located on South Lemon Ave, just before you see the Elevation Tea trailer.
Let Dad take the day off from the grill. Surprise him with some finger-lickin' delicious brisket, ribs, or smoked chicken from Herbeque. They have all the sides, too, so you can take Dad to the beach, or on a hike at one of the local state parks, and serve a fully prepared barbecue picnic feast.

Herbeque is located at the intersection of Lemon Ave and 1st Street.

Entertainment this Week
Jay Taylor is unique to our Market as both a vendor and a musician. You may recognize him from his family's longtime cattle ranch Circle 6. He just recently moved back to the area after having spent 12 years in Nashville performing. He even made an appearance on NBC's The Voice a few years back. Since moving to “Music City” Jay has played in over 40 states and several of Nashville’s famous venues including Tootsies Orchid Lounge, 3rd and Lindsley, and live on famous WSM 650 A.M. He has opened for Jake Owen, Keith Urban, Alan Jackson, Little Big Town, Eli Young Band and Dwight Yoakum. His original music has many elements of his own musical influences such as George Strait, Elvis Presley, The Beatles, even subtle hints of Motown and Southern Gospel can be heard.

Jay will be performing at the intersection of Lemon Ave and State Street in front of The Mark entrance, 9:00am - 12:30pm.
