Sarcoma is a rare form of cancer, with approximately 15,000 cases diagnosed in the United States each year. There are two main types of sarcoma, both with many subtypes.

In soft tissue sarcoma, tumors begin in the tissues that connect and support other body structures, including muscle, fat, blood vessels, nerves, deep skin tissue and cartilage.

On Wednesday, July 17, The Weizmann Institute of Science honored Board member Larry Marks and his wife, Dr. Glayds Monroy, with honorary PhDs. They were recognized for their leadership and generous support of neuroscience, as well as supporting the establishment of the Monroe-Marks Integrative Center for Brain Disorder Research at the Institute.
