Morgan M: Bringing Creativity to Life Through Animation!
Meet Morgan, a talented student at Sargent Center whose imagination and creativity is an inspiration to us all. Morgan has recently made a name for herself in the digital world with her very own YouTube Channel!
What sets Morgan's channel apart is her eye-catching fish tank animations, with each element brought to life through animation and sound effects. From underwater landscapes to aquatic creatures, Morgan's unique creations are nothing short of mesmerizing.
Morgan and her YouTube channel were recognized at a conference for Rhode Island Department of Health's Dare to Dream (D2D) initiative, a learning pathway for youth with special healthcare needs and diverse learners in grades eight through high school and those in transition to adulthood programs.
We invite you to dive into one of Morgan's videos and experience the magic for yourself!

Sophia C’s Amazing Progress with Equine Therapy
Sophia is one of our students who participated in Equine-Assisted Therapy at Faith Hill Farm. In her first individual session, she was hesitant to even touch the horse, but staff patiently moved her through progressive steps beginning with sitting on the horse, to having the horse take a few steps forward, doing core strength exercises, and eventually cantering on the horse!
By the end of her session, Sophia was so comfortable that she was feeding the horse treats and patting him. Sophia’s went from being an uncertain participant to being fully engaged and eager to get the farm each week!

Join us in celebrating the incredible dedication and leadership of our Special Olympics coaches, Casey and Charlotte, who led the Sargent Dinosaurs through our inaugural Special Olympics season with passion and enthusiasm!
Under their guidance, our student athletes proudly represented Sargent Center at the Area Games hosted at Bryant University and the State Games held at the University of Rhode Island. Casey and Charlotte also coordinated weekly practices throughout the season, ensuring our student athletes were always prepared to shine.
All of us extend our heartfelt gratitude to Casey and Charlotte for their commitment to the Special Olympics program. Their dedication has not only empowered our students but has truly inspired our entire school community.

Ice Cream Party: Hooray to the Last Day!
We recently celebrated the last day of the 2023-2024 school year with a make-your-own ice cream party!
Our students and staff gathered outside to soak in the sunshine on the playground while making their own delicious sundaes.
Events like these not only mark the end of another successful academic year but also are a reminder of the lifelong memories and friendships that make Sargent Center such a special place for our students and staff.
Congratulations to every one of our students for their hard work, resilience, and achievements this year!

Cooling Off and Having Fun: Sargent Center's Splash Pad Opens for ESY 2024!
Summer is in full swing here at Sargent Center, and we are excited to announce the official opening of our Splash Pad, which promises both endless fun and a refreshing time outside for our students during the extended school year.
With fun and safety always in mind, our Splash Pad is the perfect place for our students to enjoy some quality time outdoors all while making memories under the summer sun.
But the Splash Pad is more than just fun in the water – it's also an opportunity for our students to socialize together, stay physically active, and embrace the joys of summertime.

ESY Summer Olympics Opening Ceremonies
This week we kicked off our fun summer events for the Sargent Center Summer Olympics Opening Ceremonies with a "Passing of the Torch". A student from each classroom passed the torch to the next classroom, walking by the Seine River with a display of boats, and finally to our playground to hang the torch to officially open our Summer Olympic Events!
