The Alliance Working in America (TAWA)
program in Minneapolis-St. Paul on September 17-18, 2019. Sasakawa USA will take a group of policy experts on trade, economy, and security and foreign affairs in Washington, D.C. to Minneapolis-St. Paul, and co-organize a series of events and activities with
Global Minnesota
and the
World Affairs Councils of America
(WACA), and in partnership with other local institutions.

Hideshi Tokuchi
, Distinguished Non-Resident Fellow, Sasakawa USA, writes about the Pacific Island region and its position in the national interests of a number of major powers, including Japan, China, Australia, and the United States. Tokuchi's paper looks at the challenges and opportunities for the region as its influence evolves and how Japan and the United States can cooperate with the region on their shared vision for a Free and Open Indo-Pacific.

Sasakawa USA has selected two
JETAA
(Japan Exchange & Teaching Alumni Association) chapters as recipients of the first application cycle of the
2019-2020 Sasakawa USA/USJETAA Mini-Grant Program for JETAA Chapters & Sub-Chapters
.Congratulations to the JET Alumni Association of Southeast (JETAASE) – Alabama Sub-Chapter and the JET Alumni Association of Washington, D.C. (JETAADC). The second application cycle is open now through October 31, 2019 for remaining funds.
