Changes to SaskCulture's Funding Programs
The COVID-19 crisis is causing everyone to make and anticipate change over the next few months, if not the upcoming year. SaskCulture has been monitoring the situation and has made some changes to its current programs and services.

|
New Funding Deadlines
All funding deadlines have been extended to the new dates shown below. Additional deadlines for later in the year are still to be determined.
Due to the COVID-19 implications and government restrictions, SaskCulture wants applicants to these funding programs to know that:
- It encourages groups to consider requesting support for online-based cultural activities;
- It will not accept applications for public events or gatherings that take place prior to June 30, 2020;
- It will provide conditional grants for public events or gatherings taking place after June 30, 2020, provided they fall after the date the government has eased restrictions on public gatherings. Applicants are encourgaed to organize events with clearly articulated cancellation policies and agreements on payments; and
- It requires written or verbal notice of postponements or cancellations of funded events and activities.

Do You Have an Open Grant? Things You Should Know:
Sadly, many great cultural activities will be cancelled or postponed over the next few months. If you have already received a grant, you may be wondering what you need to do if your event or activity has been cancelled or postponed. Here are the key things you should know:
- Follow all provincial government and public health restrictions: currently, in Saskatchewan, the government has limited public gatherings to under 10 people and encourages social distancing. Keep watching government sites for updates.
- If you need to cancel or postpone, communicate this immediately to all interested parties: registered participants, ticket buyers, network mailing lists, social media followers, etc. Let them know if you have alternative plans.
- Make sure SaskCulture, or any other funders, are aware of any cancellation or postponements. Email or call an Outreach Consultant with updates. SaskCulture understands that there are still costs associated with cancelled or postponed events and encourages grant recipients to keep track.
- If your event or activity has already taken place, complete your follow-up report in SaskCulture's Online Grant Platform (OGP). If you have questions, Outreach Consultants are available by phone or email.

Creative Kids Application Deadline is May 29
It is too early to tell whether Creative Kids summer programming may be impacted, so we will continue to take applications for any programming scheduled after June 30, 2020. The next Creative Kids deadline is May 29, 2020. All grants will be conditional on the availability of programs and services and any public health restrictions issued by the Saskatchewan government.
Due to current public health restrictions, some Creative Kids programming was cancelled or postponed. SaskCulture is encouraging service providers to advise families on the continuation of programming if possible. Service providers can contact Shawn Bauche at 306-780-
9469 or email
sbauche@saskculture.ca if they have any questions.
We also remind everyone not to forget about the importance of access to cultural activity for children and youth. Please be sure to consider
donating to Creative Kids now and in the future. Keep kids healthy, active and creative!

Tips for Working From Home
In a remarkably short period of time, many organizations have had to adapt their operations in order to enable employees to work from home during the COVID-19 crisis. For many workers it is a brand new experience. Here are some suggestions on how to make your new home office both efficient and comfortable:
- Set up a dedicated workspace that, ideally, has: some privacy to reduce noise and distractions; access to a power source; natural lighting for mental and physical well-being; and room for storage of files, office supplies, electronic devices, etc.
- Make sure you have the tools and resources needed to do your job from home: a laptop or computer, essential software, headphones to help reduce distractions, printer, WIFI access, list of contacts, phone, files, etc.
