The Saskatchewan Common Ground Alliance (SCGA) Public Awareness and Education Committee (PAEC) has been established to assess, develop and deliver the best ways to promote Dig Safe awareness and education programs to our stakeholders.
PAEC executes April’s National Dig Safe month campaign. The Contractor Dig Safe Breakfast program is a signature initiative of Dig Safe Month and continues with support from 21 industry sponsors who have a goal of preventing unnecessary damages and injuries due to unsafe digging practices.
Our Target Audience is not only the contractors but the general public (i.e. homeowners) and any others that dig. Frontline workers are key to ensure best practices are followed when beginning to disturb the ground.
The SCGA 2022 Contractor Dig Safe Breakfast program was a virtual outreach event supported by additional awareness activities including an advertising campaign (social, radio and television) and contesting for a Dig Safe Delivery Breakfast prize package. The videos for 2022 were:

In 2022 we had two in-person breakfasts held. Lloydminster was April 27 and Estevan was held April 28. The Lloydminster event was joint with Utility Safety Partners and member company ASTEC Safety and included a Dig Safe Talk Show, talking incidents and regulations. Estevan was hosted by Kingston Midstream, Souris Valley Pipelines, Pembina Pipelines, Enbridge Pipeline and Energy Safety Canada as those are the supporters in our area, standard program will be facilitated. More than 200 attended - thank you to all sponsors and attendees of this event.
