"Fall to Winter" Tours and Annual Meeting

Greetings!

Join your fellow members for the Green Mountain Region’s final 2021 driving tours and annual meeting on Saturday, October 30. There will be two tours on that day - one from the greater Burlington area and the second from South/Central Vermont. Both tours will end at the Sugarbush Resort in Warren where we will gather at the School House located adjacent to the Sugarbush Clay Brook Hotel for lunch and our Annual Meeting.

The Details:

Greater Burlington Area Tour. This short tour is being organized and led by Lou Krieg & Ann Pettyjohn. Their route will take us through the Appalachian Gap, over lots of brand new pavement, plenty of "twisty bits" and elevation changes.

The gathering point will be at the Southbound I-89 Information Center (rest area) in Williston, just south of Exit 12. Among the villages the tour will pass through are Richmond, Hinesburg, Starksboro and Buell's Gore, past Mad River Glen, Fayston and into Warren and the Sugarbush Resort. Driving time will be about 1 hour 15 minutes.

Participants should plan to arrive at the above-mentioned Information Center by 9.45am.

The tour will depart from the Information Center at approximately 10.30am and will be preceded by sign-in and the drivers meeting.

Lunch is scheduled to begin at 12.30pm with the Annual Meeting taking place concurrently. We expect be done by 2.00pm.

South/Central Tour. This tour is being organized and led by David Whittall. The start location is the Green Mountain Railroad at 563 Depot Street in Chester VT. Drivers meeting and sign in at 9am. Departure from Chester will be at 9.30am. Arrival at the Sugarbush Resort will be by 12.15pm.

While the final route is still being finalized we will start in Chester and proceed up Sugarbush passing through Ludlow, Plymouth, Stockbridge, Hancock and Granville before arriving at the Sugarbush Resort.

Lunch. The buffet lunch will be served at the School House located adjacent to the Sugarbush Clay Brook Hotel and will begin at 12.30pm. The annual meeting will take place concurrently with lunch and we expect to be done by 2:00pm.

The menu includes three entrées - Lobster & Baby Shrimp Roll on a New England bun, Montreal Grilled Chicken Breast on Ciabatta bread and a Hummus & Roasted Vegetable Wrap. These will be accompanied by mixed green and pasta salads, whole fruit, soft drinks and fresh baked cookies. The cost for lunch is $40/person.

Interested in spending the weekend at the Sugarbush Resort? If so, the resort is extending a 20% discount off the regular nightly rates to GMR members. However, like many Vermont hotels they do require a two night minimum for weekend stays. Click here for more information and be sure to use promo code, GMRPCA21

Registration. Click here to register and to initiate the electronic SpeedWaiver process.

Registration tips:

If you don’t already have a Motorsportreg account you will need to create one.
Need to register another person? You can do so by adding a second profile to your Motorsportreg account or creating an additional account. Be sure the contact information for each profile is unique otherwise you will run into problems.

Signing the PCA digital waiver form requires the use of a mobile phone with messaging capabilities.

Once you complete the Motorsport registration (including your mobile #) you should receive a text message on your phone. The message will provide a link that will allow you to complete and sign the required PCA Liability waiver. You will need to take a “selfie” as part of the waiver signing process.
If you don’t receive the message with the SpeedWaiver link you click here to be directed to the requisite link.

Please direct any questions to me at gmrpca@gmail.com.

Should be fun drives and the Sugarbush lunch looks great! See you then!

Name Tags

We recommend that new members and their spouses or partners purchase "official" Green Mountain Club name tags for use at all GMR events. Please email gmrpca@gmail.com to request them for you and your spouse or partner, and our treasurer, Christina McCaffrey, will try to get them for you in time for the next event. The cost is $20.00 per name tag.
Want your spouse or partner to get these
Green Mountain PCA Newsletters?

When you joined PCA (recently or forever ago) you no doubt listed your partner or spouse as a co-member. Many co-members however have not provided their email addresses. If your spouse/partner would like to receive the Mountaineer as well as yourself, have them call PCA HQ at (410) 381-0911‬ and give PCA the information. It only takes a few minutes as PCA is very efficient. That way you both will receive The Mountaineer and other pertinent club emails.

If your co-member remembers his or her co-member login (it is separate from the main member) you can do it that way too-- but calling is probably the quickest.
Member Feature:
Send us your photos!

We have started a feature highlighting a different member in the GMR Mountaineer with his or her Porsche. If you would like to be featured in future newsletter please submit some photos of you and your car along with a paragraph or two explaining why you joined the GMR, your favorite drives or whatever!

Please reply to this email with your photo and information.
