A FRIEND

Jesus discreetly revealed at the Last Supper (before His crucifixion) which one of His twelve disciples would betray Him. Later that night, after hours of agonizing prayer in the Garden of Gethsemane, the soldiers came to take Him away. As Judas, who led them there, greeted Him with the betrayal kiss (the arranged signal), Jesus said to Judas (NKJV), “Friend, why have you come?” It was a rhetorical question since Jesus already knew the reason. The remarkable thing is that Jesus still called him “friend.” He held no animosity toward Judas Iscariot.

Jesus then willingly went with the soldiers where he was interrogated by the chief Roman curator, the religious Jewish high priest, then brutally beaten and crucified by Roman soldiers. It was a fulfillment of God’s plan of redemption for mankind just as prophesied centuries earlier.

Jesus still calls Himself “friend” to all of us regardless of whether or not one believes on Him. There have been recent reports in our time of Jesus appearing in a dream or vision to Muslims who have never heard of Him, yet they instantly and intuitively recognize His divinity. When they ask His name, His reply is, “Call me Friend.”

Judas Iscariot felt guilty of betraying his innocent friend and consequently hung himself. But what if someone were to betray you? Betrayal is a deliberate act. It can hurt us deeply, especially when it is someone whom we know very well. Are you able to respond with kindness as Jesus did?

In Matthew 5:44 (NKJV) Jesus said, “…love your enemies, bless those that curse you, do good to those who hate you, and pray for those who spitefully use you…”. Jesus’ number one commandment (John 13:34) is “…that you love one another; as I have loved you, that you also love one another.” I John 4:8, 16 say “God is love.” It is the very essence of who He is.

The evil in this world does not come from above, but from Satan (Lucifer) who, as “prince of the world” opposes God in all he does.

When you accept Jesus as your Lord and Savior, His spirit of love is instilled within your spirit. You can then honestly (and not hypocritically) call everyone “friend.”

You can accept Jesus as your own personal Lord and Savior by praying, then repent of being a “lost” sinner, ask God to forgive you, accept the sacrificial blood of Jesus on heaven’s altar as full payment for sin, and ask Him to become the Lord of your life. He will give you new life (spiritual and soul renewal) within, making you a “new man” from the inside. You can do that anytime and from wherever you are at that moment. It does not have to be with any particular person, priest, or minister. It does not have to be at any particular place. You just need to do it sincerely…whenever and wherever and accept Him as your friend and Savior.

HEARING FROM GOD

This question is asked often, “How do I hear from God?” Good question, right? The Lord speaks to us mostly through His word, the bible. In John 1:1 it says, “In the beginning was the word, and the word was with God and the word was God.” The word “word” is the Greek word “logos”, which means something said, divine expression, [Christ] communication. So, you see that Jesus, himself, is the Word.

We hear first of all from God through reading and hearing His word.  In II Timothy 3:16-17 it says 16 all scripture is given by inspiration ( Gr. Pneuma or God breathed) of God, and is profitable for doctrine (Gr. Didaskalia – teaching) for reproof (evidence or conviction) for correction (tutorage as by education or training: by implication disciplinary correction, , chastening, chastisement, instruction, nurture) in righteousness (right living) 17 That the man of God may be perfect ((complete or mature) thoroughly furnished unto all good works.”

Secondly, we hear from God through anointed preaching because it says in in Romans 10:17, “So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.” Just hearing the words from the bible spoken in your ears brings faith. You can read it to yourself out loud, and faith will come.

Thirdly, we can hear from God through a prophetic word spoken. It will always line up with your spirit and will never contradict what the Word in the Bible says. When you receive a prophetic word, pray over what you have heard. If it witnesses with your spirit then receive it, if not discard it.

Fourthly, you will hear the voice of the Holy Spirit ( who is God, part of the trinity) speaking to your spirit. It will be in your “knower”, or your thoughts. This too will never contradict what the bible says. It tells us in John 14:26, “But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you.” Again, in John 16:13 it says, “Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak, and he will show you things to come.”

Fifthly, on rare occasions God will speak to you audibly. Do not go looking for this; because Satan can disguise the voice of God. You will recognize it is the voice of God because there will be a witness in your spirit, and it will never contradict the Word of God in the bible.

So, you can see there are many ways to hear from God. He wants to speak to you; the key is to listen. I would advise you to start first by reading the Bible. The best place to begin is in the book of John, then read the book of Acts. Genesis let’s you know how everything started, and Exodus shows God’s plan unfolding. When you get to Leviticus it can bog you down with all of the Levitical laws. So, take time to read, but also take time to just sit and think on how much God loves you and listen to Holy Spirit. You can never go wrong being in the presence of God!

PROPHETIC REFORMER AMANDA SHIFLETT
A PROPHETIC WORD
9-11-2020
I felt the Lord speak to me last night, that the "Rioters" were rising up, as a counterfeit to the "Reformers" that He is raising up in this hour!
One is sent by the enemy to bring chaos, violence, and anarchy. One is sent by the Lord to bring reform, true change, and restoration of His Kingdom. Do not get the two confused!
Excerpt from original word released 10/31/16:
LET THE REFORMERS ARISE!
I heard the Lord say ~ "I will cause many Reformers to arise in this next season, and they will begin to call for a "Reformation", they will call out those things that need to be changed, those things that have been perverted...in My Church, in the governments, even those things done in secret that are not discussed.
These Reformers will have the anointing and tenacity of Martin Luther, and they will not back down from the truth, regardless of what others think, say, or do. They will begin to declare "Enough is Enough!", and will stand up against what they know to be wrong, even in the face of much persecution, knowing that I have called them for this hour to stand for truth and justice! They will stand between the porch and the altar, they will intercede, they will raise a standard of righteousness, and they will begin to birth the Awakening that I have ordained for this hour!
These that I am raising up will have no fear of man, but will have reverential fear of Me alone ~ they will only strive to please My heart, and will listen to My Voice alone! They will burn with a desire to see My truth come forth, to see My light shine in the darkness. They will stand against injustice ~ they will stand against compromise ~ they will walk in My Glory, and be branded with the Fire of My holiness!
They will stand against the altars of Baal that have been raised up, and like Gideon, they will be the ones to tear down even the altars that were raised by their father's house. They will stand for truth, and expose lies ~ they will stand in light, and expose darkness! They will know and expose the difference in the holy and the profane.
They will be of every race, of every tribe, of every generation, both male and female. My Spirit will be with them and will guide them, as they follow His leading into the battle ahead. They will be lead by My wisdom, and will know when to speak and when to stay silent. They will know when to move, and when to stay still. They will know when to war, and when to love. They will understand the balance in My judgments, and they will move, as I do, in as much justice as they do love.
You will see these Reformers arise in many different spheres of influence...in business, in education, in media & arts, in government, and most importantly, in My Church. They have been brought into the Kingdom for such a time as this, and I will raise them up, to lead a revolution among My people, among those in governmental seats, and in many other spheres in the earth, even in the world's systems. Now is the Time....begin to declare: REFORMERS ARISE!!"
So I stand in my place, and I declare: REFORMERS ARISE!! Arise from every corner of the earth, from every wilderness place! Arise and take your place...Arise and bring the Reformation and Awakening that is so needed in this hour! Arise in courageous boldness and take back the territory the enemy has stolen! Arise and Shine!!
