What's Fresh at the Saturday Market:
It’s that time of year when fall produce starts to hit the Market, but the best of summer remains. Customers will find special apple ciders, lima beans, figs, pears, freshly picked apples, Italian plums, broccoli, beets, and fall potatoes. In addition, there’s still fresh-cut basil, mint, rosemary, thyme, and parsley, watermelon, cantaloupe, gourmet melons, green beans, Haricots Verts (French green beans), multi-colored pole beans, shallots, garlic, fresh ginger, Japanese cucumbers, sweet and hot peppers, tomatoes, sweet corn, eggplant, arugula, lettuces, kales, pork sausages, chops, and ribs, hamburger and all cuts of beef, the best free-range chicken—both whole and parts, oysters, hand-picked crab meat, crab salad, different honey varieties including butter bean, mushrooms, eggs, yogurt, milk, butter, ice cream, kombucha, jams, fresh-baked breads, apple-cider donuts, pastries made with fruit from the vendors at the Market, cut-flower bouquets, locally roasted coffee and coffee drinks, cold-pressed juices made from local fruits and veggies, fresh lemonade, and more!
The Historic Lewes Farmers Market is unique in that it is producer-only—at this Market customers buy directly from the farmer who grew the produce. Only vendors who grow, raise, or produce what they sell are allowed in this market. A true farmers market!

Thanks to Lewes Mayor Andrew Williams who drew the winning 3 HLFM Big Raffle tickets on Labor Day Saturday at the Market. Michele Savin won the $1,400 gift certificate to Seagreen Bicycle. Lone Hansen's lucky ticket gets her the Private-in-Home 3-Course Chef’s Tasting with Wine Pairing for 10 by Chef Sean Corea from Lewes Oyster House. Pat Halko, who purchased her winning ticket just this Saturday, won the 12--$100 Lewes local restaurant gift cards. The HLFM appreciates everyone who purchased tickets, as the proceeds support the Market and its many programs. PARKING:
We strongly encourage you to bike or walk to the Market if you are able. Parking is very limited. The circle in front of the Fred Thomas Building at the foot of Dupont will be open for accessible drop-off and pick-up. There is additional parking in the Lewes Elementary School main parking lot, right next to George H.P. Smith Park. The entrance to the Park is next to the barn. Please note that there is a short slope at this entrance. Beebe Hospital also generously allows Market customers to park in its outside parking lot (far rear near entrance to the Park.) If you park there, follow the path to the right around the pond and you will reach the Market area.
Note for dog-owners: Please keep dogs under control on a tightly held, non-retractable leash inside the Market to ensure the safety of all customers at the Market. Please also ensure that your dog does not urinate on any signs, trash cans, tents, tables, or safety cones inside and around the Market. Thank you for your help.

HLFM's Food Pantry Purchase Program—
Help Your Favorite Farmers
and Local Food Pantries
HLFM customers who want to help feed the local community with fresh local food may purchase produce, meats, milk, and other food from growers at the Market to donate to the local Food Pantries, including Epworth and Casa San Francisco Food Pantries, every Saturday. It’s so easy--all you have to do is let the vendor know what you want to donate or give $5, $10, $25 to the grower and ask them to put together a selection for the food pantries. The farmer gets your sale, and the food pantry gets the local food. We thank you for your generosity!

SNAP, WIC, SFMNP—
