PROBLEMS OR PROMISES – YOUR CHOICE
Many people are going through trying times. Some are experiencing severe health problems. Others are stretched financially, and many are experiencing depression. Families are in crisis with relationships deteriorating and homes are broken apart every day. There is much jealousy and hatred through the world. Even within the Church there is much dissent. People are addicted to so many things and often make excuses for their wrong behavior. Many are at their wits’ end. Their souls are melted because of troubles.
The Psalms talks about this. This kind of thing has been going on since the Garden of Eden. Sin comes in many forms and so do the excuses for sin. We must realize that all those that make the decision to follow Christ will be persecuted. If you aren’t being persecuted for your faith, then perhaps you aren’t letting anyone know about it.
We are in a spiritual war my friends. Satan is the one that comes to steal, kill, and destroy. (John 10:10) He doesn’t play fair. Unlike Satan that attacks us in the natural realm, our weapons of defense are not fleshly. They are mighty through God, to the pulling down of strongholds. What is a stronghold? It is anything that you can’t get the victory in. It keeps happening.
The good news is that it doesn’t have to stay that way. We have the answers through the promises of God. God does have a good plan for each of us, but it takes a surrendered life to fulfill it. Yes, there will always be problems, but there is also a solution to each one. Faith is not a quick fix. Faith takes work! It must be developed like a muscle and used regularly to work. Without faith it is impossible to please God, so I recommend developing it.
When we focus on the problem, it will only get bigger. We must retrain our minds to focus on the promises that God gives us. He wants us to succeed. He knows what is necessary for us to grow, and strengthen our faith, so trust him! Don’t let the problems that look like giants intimidate you. Take the Word of God and sling it at the problem, and watch God take that giant down. God has a plan for health, finances, and every other issue we face. We must seek first the Kingdom of God and His righteousness then the other things will come together. Don’t give up! God is a know it all, and He will help you through the trials to bring you the victory!
