Where is the Spirit taking us?
2nd Regional Synod
Rocky Mountain Region of the ECC
October 11, 2025
at Light of Christ
| | |
Great news! The Rocky Mountain Region of the Ecumenical Catholic Communion is having our second regional Holy Synod on Saturday October 11, 2025 at Light of Christ (1000 W 15th Ave, Longmont).
Put this event on your calendar now, because you won’t want to miss it. It will be a prayerful day for all 5 Colorado ECC communities to gather together for prayer, Mass, a meal, and to be inspired by our keynote speaker Fr. Scott Jenkins.
More details will be coming over the next few months, so keep watching your church’s bulletin for how to register. But today, make sure to set aside October 11th, all day, to gather as the Body of Christ and ask “Where is the Spirit taking us?” If you have any questions, you can talk to or contact Tom Moos (tjmoos@aol.com), David Cloyd (dcloyd@prodigy.net), or Mother Rosean (motherrosean@gmail.com).
Also... we need your help!
There is a planning team representing each community hard at work organizing the Regional Synod for EVERYONE. Now we are looking for folks to help with the work teams that will be needed for that day, and for some particular planning. These teams include:
-
Hospitality – help orient people throughout the day, put out snacks and drinks, create name tags, etc.
-
Registration – help register people before the event, and then check them in the day of the event
-
Lunch – plan, setup, serve and cleanup for lunch
-
Liturgy – plan the closing Liturgy for the day, with presider Bishop Kae, including blessing of Chrism oils.
-
Music – musicians and vocalists needed for Mass. We anticipate a rehearsal sometime during the week prior to Synod
To volunteer for any of these work teams, please contact Tom Moos, David Cloyd or Mother Rosean by the end of July, with the contact information enclosed above.

Pastoral Care Training Session
Expanding pastoral care within our communities could be a great asset.
Recognizing the desire of ECC Pastors to expand pastoral care within their church communities, this interactive training provides insights and practices designed to help lay people make visits to other community members, offering them additional caring contact beyond that which the priest gives. It also considers ways to support the pastor and other clergy in the community.
Content: The 4- hour session is made up of modules which are entitled as follows...
a. Why Provide pastoral care?
b. Assuring confidentiality
c. Sharing prayer and Eucharist
d. Providing a listening ear (both active and reflective)
e. Maintaining healthy boundaries
f. Vetting volunteers for lay pastoral care ministry
g. Clergy support.
The training will be held on Saturday August 23rd , from 10am to 2pm at Church
of the Beloved, 10500 Grant Drive, Northglenn, CO.
The training will be open to everyone in the Rocky Mountain Region who is interested.
Chuck Cooper and Mary Franch, from Light of Christ ECC, are happy to bring this
training session to the Rocky Mountain Region of the ECC. Both are experienced and trained Stephen Ministers and Stephen Ministry leaders. Mary also served as Lay Pastoral Associate at Light of Christ for many years and Chuck has been the Parish Council Staff Liaison in support of LOC’s pastor.
Non-critical pastoral care offers extra support for folks that just need a listening ear. It also makes a huge difference in support of the pastor. This is not a zoom telecast. Attend in person at COB. RSVP to Mother Rosean.

Friends, Habitat for Humanity is offering an additional application phase for the month of June, 2025. Below is the latest information regarding home ownership from Habitat for those among us that may wish to apply! What can you lose by trying? Rent in Fort Collins is so expensive. Also, consider volunteering at the next Build Date: SATURDAY, OCTOBER 18. It would be great to see more of us working at the build sites! You might also consider donating to the cause. More information coming this summer.
