24th Sunday of Ordinary Time-

Sunday, September 15, 2024

"My soul is from elsewhere,

I'm sure of that. And I

Intend to up there." -Rumi

On September 15th, join us at 12:30 pm in the Sanctuary or on Zoom for Sunday Mass with M. Rosean Amaral presiding.

Art Bavoso and Ruth Alexander will be serving as our lectors. Jim Berry and Gray LaFond will be our Eucharistic Ministers. We are grateful to our marvelous Music Ministry for providing spirit-filled song.

Here is the worship aid (view or print) to assist with prayer.

Zoom attendees: it's helpful if you have any prayer you want to offer, put in the chat early. It is ok to put it in as soon as you check in on zoom. This way we won’t miss any request for prayers!

Also - please have your food and drink ready for communion before mass starts. Communion is an important part of our liturgy and we believe all food is God’s food. It is your intention that makes it communion.

An Update from Mother Rosean

Hello friends,

My 2nd surgery went very well and I am up and about. I experienced no pain and was able to do all my normal activities the same evening. Next step will be 4 weeks of radiation treatments starting October 16.

Thank you all for your continued prayers and best wishes.

With deep appreciation,

Mother Rosean

Faith, Family, Hospitality

Dear loving & generous MoM community members,

We will soon have the chance to feel the joy of serving the families of Fort Collins who are experiencing homelessness. This rotation, we will be helping these families on Tuesday, Oct.15 & Thursday, Oct. 17. We are in need of cooks, evening hosts, and overnight hosts for those days. However, overnight hosts can sign up for any night.

A special invitation to those of you who haven't volunteered before, to consider helping this time. It's always so rewarding to interact with these parents and their children.

Please prayerfully consider this opportunity to help the unhoused families of Fort Collins.

You can sign up to serve here. You can also Jean or Lynne know if you can help.

The Mass will be broadcast on YouTube and will be THE Sunday morning Mass for the entire ECC. Those who live in Colorado, even if you are doing nothing else at Synod, are invited to join in person. Take a drive up to Estes Park, meet others in the ECC from around the nation, make a joyful noise praising God, and join in the worship of Mass like no other. Kids and young people are especially welcome. Our God is good!

301 Faith Partners - Groups & Ministries

301 Faith Partners Prayer Group

On the last Monday of each month at 10:30 am, the 301 Faith Partners Prayer Group meets to pray for the 301 Faith Partners! The group opens by calling on the Holy Spirit to be present. They then take one of the Core Values of the 301 Faith Partners and reflect on it. Following this, they engage in Lectio Divina and then share their reflections.

They pray for the clergy and leadership bodies of Mary of Magdala, St. Paul’s, and Trinity. They close with a Litany of God’s Mission for the 301 Faith Partners, which was first prayed at the Bishops’ Blessing on May 31, 2023.

The Trinity Readers

The Trinity Readers (the TLC morning book group) will meet on Monday, October 7th, to discuss the novel Sisters under the Rising Sun by Heather Morris which is centered around an Australian nurse and an English musician who end up together in a Japanese POW camp. Members of MoM and SPE are invited to join us in person at 9:30 a.m. in Room 2 or via Zoom here. Questions? Contact Nadine Hunt at 970-825-3730.

Chapter 2 Book Group

Too much of a good thing... the original Book Group needed to expand! Join us each month to discuss a book from a variety of both fiction and non-fiction books. Readers are welcome to attend each month or just when the book interests them. We will be meeting on the 4th Thursday of September at 6:00 pm in Room 2. We are currently reading “Tom Lake” by Ann Patchett and “Our Town” by Thornton Wilder. Email Maddie Fairfax with any questions.

Habitat for Humanity Build Date on September 28th!

Come help build: Our next Build Date is Saturday, September 28. Mark your calendars now!

It will likely be 7:45AM - 3:30PM, at the Harmony Cottages development at the SE corner of Harmony and Taft Hill Road, but the time and location (still in Fort Collins) might change. There is no

lasting commitment- you can come out once, or come volunteer many times. Absolutely no experience is needed, and guidance is given by Habitat’s friendly onsite staff. You’ll have a full, rewarding day working alongside future homeowners and volunteers from other local faith communities, and you’ll likely learn a lot. For more information or to get signed up, please email gray.currier@gmail.com or call or text Gray at (970) 962-4057. Preference is given to those who have not been out before.

Help build from a kitchen: Saturday, September 28th, is our 301 Faith Partnership’s turn to provide lunch to the onsite Build Crew. You and others from St Paul’s, Trinity, and Mary of Magdala put your heads together to plan, provide, and serve the lunch at the Build Site. Usually there are about twenty hungry folks to feed. Hint: frozen lasagna, a salad, and a desert always seem to be a hit, but come up with whatever you want! Contact Gray, as above, and he’ll put you in touch with whoever is leading this very much appreciated culinary effort.

Donate through St Paul’s Habitat Challenge: Just write a check to St Paul’s Episcopal, write “Habitat” on the memo line, and put it into your Sunday plate. Your gift will be doubled by St. Paul's Habitat Challenge Match. up to a total of $5,000 for 2024. It will be acknowledged as a tax-deductible contribution to St Paul’s on an end of year financial statement.

Habitat for Humanity brings people together to build homes, community, and hope. There are so many ways to help… thanks so much for yours!

301 Quilters Update

The 301 Quilters stay busy making quilts from the donations given to us. We meet each Friday from 10-12 in Room 2. All are welcome and no experience is needed. We'll teach and guide through the quilt making process. Come be a part of this Faith Partner ministry.

Contact Pat with any questions.
