Lord, my God, in the Book of Acts of the Apostles, St. Luke wrote that Barnabas was a man filled with the Holy Spirit and faith. Give me this day the grace to be more like him by following his awareness that his own wisdom was not enough. Along with other elders, he prayed and fasted, and the Holy Spirit showed them how to build the kingdom of God. He listened with the elders for the promptings of the Spirit to join St. Paul on his missionary journeys to proclaim the good news of the Gospel. Allow me to see that I can too, in my own way, by listening to the promptings of the Spirit in my prayer and actions, proclaim my faith in Christ by what I say and do. I ask this in Your name. Amen.
