Welcome Marie Valles,

New Front Desk Staffer

Hi, my name is Marie! Two years ago, I moved here from Chicago and have been active at the Allen Senior Recreation Center. I have previously participated in line dancing, bingo, Silver Sneakers and most recently, Ceramics.

The staff here has made my transition a very smooth, joyful and happy experience. I’m a grandmother of twin girls, a sweet 1 year old baby boy and a new granddaughter coming in December. I dedicated 28 years to the Chicago Public School system and volunteered in many events back in Chicago, from the Local School Council to Community events for my condo association. I enjoy reading, bowling and fellowship with positive people here at the Center. I’m so excited to meet and greet my huge family (ASRC members) and help them!

Make a Difference: Apply for Senior Advisory Committee

New members and "always around the Center" members are invited to apply and serve on the Senior Advisory Committee.

Committee Members promote the interest and well-being of all members, help create a positive image for the Center and encourage Allen seniors to be actively involved to achieve a satisfying and fulfilling life.

Every one of us experiences grief in our lifetime. This group unites people on their individual paths of loss. You will receive "tool boxes" with items to help comfort you as you learn healthful practices in healing. Everyone is welcome to share or just sit and listen.
