Dear Vikings,

We are so excited for all of the events of this upcoming weekend! Already, 150 of you have answered the call and are registered to take part in the Viking Rampage Challenge being held this Saturday! If you want to take on this year’s course but have not already completed the waiver, please do so here. All participants must have a completed waiver on file. Remember that adults often run the course, too, especially because younger children may need help with some of the obstacles. Please note that the course will be open from 9:30 a.m. until 11:30 a.m. For extra motivation, the first 120 students to complete the course will be able to claim a t-shirt!

What to Wear/Bring

We are expecting cold weather to come in by Saturday, so please dress accordingly. Because you should expect to get muddy and wet, we suggest wearing clothing in layers that are not 100% cotton, as it will not help you keep warm. It is essential to have shoes that will remain secured to your feet. Crocs and slip-on shoes will be lost. Certainly a towel, change of clothes, dry socks and dry footwear will help you warm up following the race.

Start Time

The registration table will open at 8:30 a.m., and the first wave of competitors will begin at 9:30. Please sign in and be ready to go by 9:00 a.m. so we can communicate any last-minute notices about the course and start the race on time.

Parking

We will have many athletic events happening on campus that morning and afternoon. If possible, please park in the upper school parking lot and walk down to the middle school playground if you are coming only for the Viking Rampage.

Fun Following the Run

In addition to the awesome CA athletics and delicious food trucks on campus that day, our eighth-graders will be leading fun activities and games for all students at the Hola Tailgate starting at 11:00 a.m. (view flyer). There will be a LOT of prizes and candy up for grabs, so be sure to stop by!

Volunteers (Still) Needed!

The Viking Rampage Challenge is a huge community-building event that takes many hands to make it happen. Thank you to everyone who has already volunteered to help make this event a success! If you are able to give your time and energy to the event, please sign up here.

Thank you to everyone for making our sixth annual Viking Rampage a special event! If you have any questions, please contact me at rheee@columbusacademy.org.

Best,
