“...fluid, expressive, and deeply human. [Satya’s voice] moves like honey, slow and deliberate, but never passive; every note feels intentional, every breath charged with meaning. She sings from inside the feeling rather than around it”
– ATWOOD MAGAZINE
“Satya’s effortless balance of soul/R&B textures and singer/songwriter intimacy feels about as natural as breathing.”
– MAGNET MAGAZINE
“Reminiscent of Lauryn Hill’s folky neo-soul and musical storytelling”

Today, Los Angeles-bound, Oakland native Satya released “Fruits Of My Labor,” a beautiful rendition of Lucinda Williams’ all-time classic. Pensive and tender like the original, Satya’s version of “Fruits Of My Labor” is soulful and nostalgic, reminiscent of Southern rain and humid New Orleans patios. “Fruits Of My Labor” is the latest single from Yellow House, Satya’s debut record set for release on June 5, 2026 via Giant Music Distribution. A reflective collection of work navigating childhood trauma and recovery, written during her time in New Orleans, Yellow House was recorded in Nashville and produced by Colin Linden (Keb’ Mo’, T Bone Burnett).
Regarding the track, Satya said: “The first time I heard ‘Fruits of My Labor,’ I was in a dive bar in New Orleans. It was so loud in the bar, and my friend was talking to me, but the second the song came on, it felt like it cut straight through to me. I went home and immediately looked it up, read all the lyrics and CRIED.
The way I interpret the song is like writing to a past love about where you are now in your life. Lucinda's lyrics helped me learn how to hold my own two truths at once. Learning to let it all go and move forward, and yet still finding the beauty of someone you loved in the past, finding traces of them in the present even when they’re no longer there.”
