Advice from Chesapeake Gustin
Flight Instructor, Savannah Aviation
"Perhaps the most important part of flying is something that's often overlooked from the very beginning and that's the preflight inspection. Without a thorough check of your aircraft (and yourself as pilot in command), you could be setting yourself up for disaster before you even leave the ground. Check out this great article by AOPA on how to do a proper preflight of you and your aircraft."
Savannah Aviation imparts wisdom to the next generation of aviators
Flight Instructors Chesapeake Gustin and Adam Harmon took time out of their busy schedule to attend the E ffingham County Highschool  career day in order to inform graduating students of the many job opportunities in aviation. The best flying jobs require education and experience and there's no better way to earn both than to start with Savannah Aviation. Check out this great article from our friends at EAA on the many careers available in Aviation.
NATCA Hosts a Pancake Breakfast Fly In with Savannah Aviation
It was standing room only on 18 January as the Disaster Response Committee of the National Air Traffic Controllers Association presented lessons learned and opportunities for our local aviation community volunteers in future disaster response activities. The local ATC folks also got a chance to fly in the Savannah airspace to see what the view is like outside their radar scopes. Click the link below to learn more about NATCA,
Savannah Aviation makes the news
Chief Flight Instructor Zack Hartley had the privilege of being interviewed by WTOC reporter Sean Evans about a recent report of GPS interference caused by a local military exercise and how such an event can affect flight training. Despite the technological advances we enjoy today, the art of navigation has been around for centuries and we at Savannah Aviation strive to ensure our students know how to find their way home when the modern conveniences they rely on are no longer available. Checkout this great article by AOPA on the two primary means of traditional navigation and how to use each system when your GPS no longer works.
