SAVANNAH'S SOUTHERN HOUSE RESTAURANT SET FOR APRIL 2ND OPENING

 

YORKTOWN HEIGHTS, NY - 3/25/14 - The DiPaterio family is set to open their third restaurant in the Yorktown/Cortlandt Manor area, Savannah's Southern House, located at 3901 Crompond Road, Cortlandt Manor, NY, on Wednesday April 2nd at 5PM in an effort to bring a fresh new restaurant choice to their home town.  The official opening will be proceeded by a VIP party and ribbon cutting ceremony Monday March 31st, from 4:45 PM till 8PM, where members of the Yorktown and Cortland Chambers of Commerce and Elected officials will be invited to see the restaurant.

 

Savannah's will offer Southern favorites such as Fried Green Tomatoes, Country Fried Steak, Chicken and Waffles, Carolina Red Trout and traditional desserts such as Peach Cobbler, Pecan & Apple Pie. All prepared under the supervision of Executive Chef Sean Lyons who just relocated to New York from North Carolina. They will have full bar, take out, and seasonal outside porch dining.

 

The DiPaterio family currently operates two popular restaurants: Little Sorrento in Yorktown and Piazza Roma in the Cortlandt Town Center. Gina & Paul's son Paul, 26 has joined the family business and has teamed up to create Savannah's Southern House. After many years of waiting for just the right opportunity, they purchased the property in June and with the help of many supervised by LoPicolo Contracting, drawings by David Tetro Design the building has had a complete renovation. Recently the family visited Savannah Georgia. "We were so impressed with the style of food and service on our trip that we wanted to try to recreate it in New York" says Paul. "We really tried our best to bring not only the southern feeling of the service and food, but also the character of the architecture and decor." Paul represents the 4th generation -to operate a "family" business in the area. The restaurant hospitality business began in 1947 when Gina's grandfather opened the original Sorrento in Peekskill. "The building has a lot of history", Gina said, "In the 50's her great Aunt and Uncle operated an Italian Restaurant called the Epicure. Over Seventy years of cooking up many Italian favorites Savannah's is a new and exciting venture, one that we hope the community embraces.
