HCCI will host a new virtual workshop series, Demystifying Value-Based Care: Best Practices for Today and Tomorrow, in April. Designed for experienced HBPC providers and practice staff, the series will equip participants to succeed in value-based payment arrangements in the three workshops below, all of which run 12:30 to 4:45 p.m. CT: Learners can opt to register for all three workshops and save 10% (discount available through Tuesday, April 11), or register for the individual workshops. Federal Public Health Emergency for

COVID-19 Expiration: CMS Waivers & Flexibilities Impacts

Based on COVID-19 trends, the Department of Health and Human Services is planning for the federal Public Health Emergency for COVID-19 (PHE) to expire at the end of the day on May 11, 2023. During the PHE, emergency declarations, legislative actions by Congress, and regulatory actions across government, including by the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS), allowed for changes to many aspects of healthcare delivery.


Healthcare providers received increased flexibility, allowing for the streamlining of care delivery and access. While some changes will be permanent or extended due to congressional action, some waivers and flexibilities will expire. IL House Call Project Champion to Discuss Future of Home Care

HCCI’s Illinois House Call Project Champion April Odom, MSN, APRN-FPA, CRRN, FNP-BC, a family nurse practitioner with over 20 years of experience, and CEO of PhysicalsPlus, will participate in a free live, virtual event on March 24 at 1pm CT, titled Healing at Home: Pandemic Lessons and the Future of Home Care.

 

During the event, hosted by health policy outlet Tradeoffs, April will serve as a special audience guest and join in as other at-home care experts discuss how lessons learned from the pandemic can be applied to the future of home-based care. The featured guests will also include Bruce Leff, MD, Director, The Center for Transformative Geriatric Research at Johns Hopkins, who also co-leads the National Home-Based Primary Care Learning Network with Dr. Christine Ritchie, MD, MSPH, FACP, FAAHPM. The Learning Network is a fellow co-grantee with HCCI of The John A. Hartford Foundation.
