We need your help to save Calistoga Speedway!
The renewal of racing at Calistoga Speedway and the annual "Louie Vermeil Classic" may be a reality if you will take the time to email the following officials (listed below) your POSITIVE FEELINGS regarding racing at the Napa County Fairgrounds, home of the Calistoga Speedway.
The City of Calistoga's City Council has agreed to develop a proposal to purchase the entire Fairground Property from the County, including the Speedway Track, RV lot, Golf Course, and existing buildings. If the City and County can negotiate a deal, The City will become the owner and be in charge of the administration of the Fairgrounds. It appears that many city representatives are supportive of the renewal of activities at the racetrack, and encouragement from the racing community will certainly justify their positive thoughts about racing at Calistoga.
Calistoga Speedway is one of only two remaining half-mile dirt tracks in California and has a history that dates back to 1937. That history includes the names of countless race drivers and car owners who became elite figures in auto racing. The annual "Louie Vermeil Classic" honors Calistoga resident Louie Vermeil, the driving force behind Auto Racing at Calistoga Speedway on The Napa County Fairgrounds.
Please help HMC Promotions (The Hunt Family) and Dick and Stan Vermeil, along with their families, to return and renew the "Louie Vermeil Classic" to its rightful home at Calistoga Speedway.
Regards, Tommy Hunt
