Sending Off Our Starbucks Service Fellows

Saying Goodbye to Michaela and Angie! Join us in saying goodbye and good luck to Michaela Barnhart and Angie Stenbak, our Starbucks Service Fellows who have completed their six-month terms! They have been working in Mesa and Park South to pave new relationships and create new programs and opportunities. "I've been able to step outside of my comfort zone, take a vision for my community, and run with it to make a difference." -Angie, reflecting on her time with HandsOn. After the Fellowship, Angie will begin Assistant Store Manager Training with Starbucks and Michaela will begin her year of service as an AmeriCorps VISTA with HandsOn.

What is a Starbucks Service Fellow? Starbucks and Points of Light, the world’s largest organization dedicated to volunteer service, provides select Starbucks store partners (employees) in 13 cities the opportunity to serve with a local nonprofit in their communities.  As part of the Starbucks Service Fellows pilot, selected partners work 20 hours in their store each week, while spending another 20 hours each week with HandsOn Greater Phoenix to help drive their mission, vision and programs forward.

If you're looking for a fun way to get your team or group to volunteer together, join us for our  26 th  Annual Serve-A-Thon on Friday, April 12th & Saturday, April 13th!   Serve-A-Thon is a great way for groups of all sizes (5-200!) to improve morale, team build, and show your community love while also tackling some of the Valley's most important issues.      If you're interested, fill out the   Team Form   and submit it  Todd Byard. From there, we will assign you to a project based on your expected team size, skills, and interests.
