5 o'clock until 8 pm, your significant other can have
individualized attention in helping them choose a gift for you, and of course
EVERYBODY is welcome! There will be snacks to keep everyone buoyed and energized.

We’ve been asked quite a lot lately about some products that we carry in the store so we thought we would pass along the information to all of you.

Not only is this tagine absolutely beautiful but it’s rugged too!
|
|
The base of the tagine is heavy gauge stainless steel - wide and shallow; its lid – high gloss stoneware, has a conical shape and creates a seal on the base. Together, the two pieces make a kind of oven. The base also serves as a serving dish retaining the heat within the food. While the food is being cooked, steam rises into the cone, condenses and then falls back down into the dish allowing it to naturally and continuously baste the dish and to keep the ingredients moist and the meat fall-apart tender.

For modern cooking, your tagine means low heat and slow cooking with very little fat or liquid compared with methods we are used to. The traditional North African dishes that form the basis of tagine cuisine, feature an abundance of “warm spices” such as cinnamon, cumin, coriander, the sweet taste of onions, freshness of lemons and garlic, along with the exciting cooking fruits of the hot countries such as figs, dates and prunes.

Something that we get asked for all year long is Marcona Almonds from Spain. What are Marcona Almonds? These almonds are far sweeter, moister, and softer than the classic almond variety with a buttery flavor and texture similar to macadamia nuts. Their taste and aroma are delicate.
They make a fantastic addition to salads or just about any dessert or baked good. Try them on a baked honey Brie, sauté them in olive oil and sprinkle with smoky paprika and sea salt, and Darcy loves them with sautéed green beans!
