What's Happening at KHS
Are you smitten by kittens? Do you find yourself in the throes of puppy love? You can shower shelter animals with love this Valentine’s season by participating in our My Furry Valentine donation drive! This online campaign allows you to save the lives of dogs and cats from the comfort of your home. This event runs from February 1, 2017 until midnight on February 14, 2017. Join in to help us show shelter pets the love!

KHS provides a helping hand

KHS participated in the Project Connect social service fair in January, providing free rabies and pet food to low-income and homeless pet owners of Kitsap County. It was a huge success! Read more about our involvement in this community event on our website!  

Pints for Pets at Slaughter County!
Unleash your inner pirate and come on out to Slaughter County Brewing Company for our February Pints for Pets event on February 15, 2017 from 5-8 pm! Slaughter County serves “honest beer made honestly” so you can enjoy a nice cold pint, all while helping save the lives of animals!

At this Pints for Pets event, we will be holding a supply drive! To view our wish list of needed items, visit our website at http://www.kitsap-humane.org/support-us/in-kind-donations/. Every donation of items guarantees you a snazzy KHS bandana! So round up supplies, grab your friends, and come on out!

Garage Sale Items Needed!
Get an early start on your spring cleaning - for a good cause! A longtime KHS volunteer is holding a garage sale in Bremerton this spring with all proceeds benefiting KHS’ lifesaving work. And she needs good items to include in the sale! If you have anything you are willing to donate (no broken or well-worn items please!), please contact her directly (no drop offs at KHS please!):

Adorable Adoptable
Aggie awaits her forever home

Hello, my name is Aggie (Intake #61358) and I’m a 3-year-old black domestic shorthair kitty with the most beautiful yellow eyes and shiny velvety coat. At the shelter, I’m a little nervous and overwhelmed. But once I warm up to you, I can be a complete sweetheart. Chin scratches are one of my most favorite things ever. I’m looking for a dedicated family who will give me the time I need to warm up and show my true personality. You can meet me and other adoptable animals at Kitsap Humane Society, open six days a week. 
Volunteer Spotlight
 Kathy Mahan

Kathy has been a volunteer with KHS for 2 years. During that time, she has become a beloved member of our team! You will often find her sitting with a nervous dog in its kennel or in our Canine Relaxation Room. She is also a member of our transfer team and an amazing photographer! Many of the photos on our adoptable pet page have been taken by Kathy. Most notably, Kathy is an invaluable resource for our scared dogs in need of foster homes. This year, Kathy and her husband fostered eight dogs and provided short-term shelter breaks for many others. Thank you, Kathy, for all you do at KHS!
