Save the Date - 'Camps for Kids' Holiday Party
Saturday, December 14th

Grab your spouse, friend, neighbor, co-worker, or significant other for a night of FUNdraising at Jimmy's Event Center in Vadnais Heights. Wear your favorite holiday sweater and be entered for a special raffle drawing!

Tickets for this event will go on sale in November. Individual tickets, tables, and sponsorships will be available.

Every dollar raised during this event will help fund our upcoming 2020 summer camps in East Saint Paul, North Minneapolis, and Bloomington. These 8-week summer camps support children ranging in age from 8-16 who tend to have fragile family ecosystems or otherwise lacking in a healthy support structure. Our baseball camps provide kids an opportunity to develop a sense of belonging and creates an opportunity to experience positive relationships that reinforce critical life skills; accept failure, perseverance, winning with dignity, and compassion for others.

Paul's Pals Embraces JP4 Partnership
By Olivia Pavlish and Caleb Holt, JP4 Foundation Interns

"Our mission is to make play accessible to everyone," said Taylor Burke, a Marketing Specialist for Paul's Pals in Minnetonka. "The JP4 Foundation's mission is to make baseball accessible to everyone. Our missions align, but the JP4 Foundation is more specific and a great support system for us."

Paul's Pals started in 1996 in honor of Paul Adelman, who died because of brain tumors shortly after he turned 12. The mission of Paul's Pals is to advance inclusion in everyday adventures for children of all abilities. Their focus is providing grants to different organizations. To date, they have raised a total of $1.6 million. These grants are used to invest in people and projects that benefit life and learning for kids with special needs. Paul's Pals offers these grants in memory of Paul's life.

"We want to honor the things that brought him joy," said Burke. "They recently began a group of events for families involved with sports called the Super Series. One of these sports is baseball."

The Super Star Classic is a baseball-focused event at CHS Field, home of the Saint Paul Saints. This year, one of the partners for this event was the JP4 Foundation. Families came to participate in this clinic before the Saint Paul Saints All-Star game. Paul's Pals focused on the inclusivity of the event while the JP4 Foundation helped to provide coaches. The goal of this event was for all members to understand that disabilities do not inhibit the ability of the children to play with one another. Saint Paul Saints players took part in activities with the families during the clinic and invited the kids to join them on the field at the start of the Saints All-Star game.

"Jeff and the JP4 Foundation are a great resource and partner for us," said Burke. The next Super Star Classic has not been scheduled but the two organizations are working on the next cooperative event within the next year.

Help Us Give to the Max in November

Thursday, November 14 th marks Minnesota's Give to the Max Day - a day set aside for nonprofit organizations to share their stories and raise funds for their upcoming year of work.

The JP4 Foundation will join thousands of other organizations who use this day to reach out to their supporters and advocates. We'll use this opportunity to share the origin of our foundation, our impact and accomplishments and roadmap for the future. This year we will ask donors to support us with a $5 donation, and to commemorate the start of our 4th year, to share our story with four friends.

Watch for additional detail in the following weeks.

Help Wanted

Can you help us collect gift cards and silent auction baskets? We have approximately 60 days to collect auction baskets and gift cards for our upcoming Holiday Party in December.  Do you have a friend relative or professional contact who might have an item, service, or experience to donate? Do you have a favorite shop where you frequent so much, you are known by name? Perfect! These are the type of businesses that are most likely to respond with an enthusiastic 'yes' to your request for a donation.

This is a great opportunity for individuals, families, or businesses who are looking to give back in a new way! 100% of all money raised will be used for expanding our 2020 summer-long baseball camps.

If you are able to donate auction-ready baskets or gift cards, please contact Jeff Huth at  [email protected]
