Save the Date: AHSC Round 5 Workshops in November
The California Strategic Growth Council (SGC) in partnership with the California Department of Housing and Community Development (HCD) is excited to announce the expected release of the Round 5 Affordable Housing and Sustainable Communities (AHSC) Notice of Funding Availability (NOFA). The Round 5 NOFA will make available roughly $550 million and will be our largest funding round to date. The Council is set to vote at its October 31
st
meeting on the Final Round 5 Program Guidelines; once the Guidelines are approved, SGC will release the Round 5 NOFA and application.
Please find the proposed Final Round 5 Program Guidelines
on SGC’s website
, along with the
AHSC staff report
, which summarizes fina
l proposed changes to the Guidelines. To receive a version of the Final Round 5 Guidelines with changes tracked, email your request to

Staff from SGC and HCD will host a series of public workshops and a webinar in November to detail changes made to the AHSC Guidelines and the Benefits Calculator Tool and to answer questions from potential applicants. Staff will also offer twenty-minute consultations with applicants to discuss potential projects.
In addition, SGC and HCD will hold workshops on the AHSC program and the Infill Infrastructure Grant (IIG) Program in San Diego, Santa Ana, Chico, and Oakland. Due to the aligned Program requirements and compatibility of the funding sources, staff seek to centralize information=sharing on these two significant sources for affordable housing.
