Happy Thanksgiving from FSPA
In the spirit of Thanksgiving, we share with you this reflection from Franciscan Sister of Perpetual Adoration Joyce Blum. Sister Joyce lives in Iowa and ministers with Shelby County Parishes as Associate Pastor, Hispanic Outreach.

"We look not at what can be seen but at what cannot be seen ... for what can be seen is temporary, but what cannot be seen is eternal."
-- 2 Cor. 4.18

How true as I set out to pave new frontiers. I certainly do not see ALL so clearly, rather it is the FRANCISCAN LOVE, the FAMILY INTEREST, the WORLD NEEDS and the EVER TRUSTING FRIENDS who move me so deeply to BE OPEN.

Is there doubt? Certainly there is doubt. Is there faith? Yes, and that is what ties us all together in HIS SPIRIT.

Do I need to have the answers? No longer today. Growth, maturity and just lots of experiences help me to know that GOD is working continuously with me in a partnership that is unbelievable. How blessed I am!

As I accept and act on the daily challenges, I found out more about myself and the marvels that I am able to accomplish ... Thanks, God.

Waiting in the Dark: Advent Prayer and Reflection for Discerning Women

Sunday, December 6, 2020
3-5 p.m. Central Time

The season of Advent invites us all to reflect on the experience of waiting for the coming of Light. How might women who are discerning their vocation grow in hope and faith, as they long for Light and clarity during these unusual times? All women who are discerning a vocation to Catholic sisterhood are welcome to join in this time of prayer, reflection and discussion.

Register here by Wednesday, December 2 to receive the Zoom link for the virtual gathering.
