AAIntern Spotlight
Kelly Schneider

Kelly Schneider
Volunteer Services Intern
Kelly Schneider, a senior at George Mason University, is pursuing her Bachelor's Degree in Psychology and currently serving as the Volunteer Services Intern for FACETS. She grew up in a small town of Virginia and has been living in Fairfax for three years. In her free time, Kelly enjoys spending time with family and friends, reading, taking naps, and exploring all the different things this area has to offer.

Why did you choose to volunteer for FACETS?
I knew that I wanted to become more involved with my community. When I learned about FACETS, and the opportunities that they provide for volunteers and members of the community, I knew that is was a place where I could make an impact and get involved in a way that was meaningful to me and others.

What is the best part of serving as the Volunteer Services Intern?
What I really love about this position is getting to understand the greater scope of all the opportunities that this organization offers. I get a behind the scenes look at all of our programs and how they work. It's great to volunteer with a group that is open to new opinions and voices, and really be an integrated part of the community. Everyone is really welcoming!

How would you encourage others to help out this summer?
There are a ton of awesome volunteer opportunities this summer! Our community centers have lots of options for people who are looking for ways to get involved, and are flexible to meet everyone's schedules. There are also internships available with our Summer Lunch program, and lots of community events throughout the summer.

Thank you Key Club members for sharing the St. Patty's Day festivities with our residents.
