Effective Youth Advocacy Institute on the

Prevention of Teen Dating Violence

On behalf of the Office on Violence Against Women (OVW) and the Rural Teen Dating Violence TA team, we would like to welcome you to the upcoming Effective Youth Advocacy Institute on the Prevention of Teen Dating Violence, which will take place in Boise, ID on February 26-27, 2025. Institute Overview:

The Effective Youth Advocacy Institute on the Prevention of Teen Dating Violence is an interactive 1.5 day training tailored for rural service providers and preventionists. This institute emphasizes the importance of inclusive programming, specifically focusing on integrating all youth in prevention programming, including youth from historically marginalized communities who experience disproportionate rates of teen dating violence. Participants can expect to build strong connections and networks with other youth serving preventionists while learning how to incorporate engagement methods like play, appreciation rituals, and reflection.

Institute Details:

This 1.5-day Institute begins Wednesday, February 26, 2025 from 9:00 am - 5:00 pm and continues on Thursday, February 27, 2025, from 9:00 am - 1:00 pm.

The institute will be held at The Linen Building 1402 W Grove St, Boise, ID 83702

Lodging:

The Idaho Coalition has arranged a discounted block of rooms at The SPARROW Hotel at a rate of $167 per night (plus applicable taxes and fees). Attendees are responsible for booking their accommodations. Please use reservation link to reserve your room by January 26, 2025. Who should attend?

This institute is designed for those currently working in, or interested in, teen dating violence prevention in rural communities. Registration is limited to 50 registrants.

Cost:

The institute is offered at no cost to programs and is funded by the Office on Violence Against Women Rural Teen Dating Violence Technical Assistance grant program. Participants are responsible for covering all travel, lodging, and meal expenses.

OVW Approval: 

OVW grantees may use grant funds to cover expenses, provided they receive prior approval from their grant managers.
