Workshop: Fostering Sustainable Outcomes in Private Sector Partnerships
A powerful force, the private sector can achieve scale and ensure sustainability of development efforts to lift people out of poverty, strengthen communities, and build more resilient economies. As a pillar of its Journey to Self-Reliance framework, USAID released its Private Sector Engagement Policy in 2018, followed by the PSE Evidence and Learning Plan in 2019. The policy outlines a requirement for USAID “to work hand in hand with the private sector to design and deliver development and humanitarian programs across all sectors.”

Join Chemonics and USAID to explore best practices in fostering more sustainable outcomes when engaging the private sector. Through a panel discussion and interactive breakout sessions, this workshop will highlight innovative approaches and lessons learned from projects engaging the private sector in various ways across technical sectors and regions.

Discussion topics include:

  • Mobilizing market-based solutions
  • Incorporating local capacity development
  • Ensuring shared value and commitment from the private sector
  • Supporting an ecosystem for private sector engagement
