Poolesville Day

Saturday, September 19

2-hour shifts, 10 a.m.-4 p.m.

Poolesville, MD

The Poolesville Day parade starts at 10 a.m., and tables are already set up and ready to go—with food, crafts, games, and local organizations, including MoCoLMP.

We've found lots of new members at Poolesville Day over the years, and we find it an important way to let people know about the historic marker we've erected right around the corner.

Please let us know if you have a couple of hours to help out in the morning or afternoon.

Hometown Treasures

Friday, September 18

2-hour shifts, noon–7 p.m.

Saturday, September 19

2-hour shifts, 11 a.m.- 5:00 p.m.

Bette Carol Thompson Scotland Neighborhood Recreation Center

7700 Scotland Drive, Potomac, MD

MoCoLMP has been invited to table at Hometown Treasures. Hidden in closets, basements, and forgotten boxes are objects that tell the story of your family—and of history itself. Activities include a professional review of up to three items.

If you are available for a couple of hours on Friday or Saturday, please let us know. It's a great way to meet people interested in Black history and to get to know other MoCoLMP volunteers! Please click on the link below and let us know when you are available.

Maryland Lynching Memorial Project (MDLMP) is the fiscal sponsor of MoCoLMP. We are grateful for their continued support.
