Sowing the Seeds for Resilient Futures:

Cultivating Nature-Based, Trauma-Informed Pedagogy and Community Practice

Waldorf early childhood education is rooted in the rhythms of the seasons and the natural world, weaving predictability in our days with wonder and curiosity about the world around us, supporting the sense of life in the developing young child. To keep growing in our work and meet the needs of today's children, this conference invites us to explore a trauma-informed pedagogical lens rooted in Land-based practice.

Our bodies are part of the Land. They connect us to the elements, the seasons, and one another. Within our bodies, our nervous systems respond to the nervous systems of the world around us, just as the children in our care respond to our inner way of being. We are witness to relentless suffering in the world, and yet every day, we are called to celebrate the beauty of life.

By tuning into our bodies, our ancestors, our stories, and those of Lands and each other, we can become the change that our young children, and future generations, are calling for. Join us as we learn, connect, and explore the elements, the seasons, and our own inner being, to elevate together a transformational and healing education for a world in need.
