About Locust Lane Craft Brewery

In 2016, three Penn State alumni combined their love of great beer, a 28+ year friendship and an entrepreneurial itch, to imagine Locust Lane Craft Brewery. The goal was to provide simple and well-crafted beers to the greater Malvern community. Since co-owners Tom Arnold, Bryan Brockson, and Jason Cartwright opened the brewery in 2017, Locust Lane has built a craft-beer-loving team who knows the power of good beer and a welcoming taproom. The brewery enjoys giving back to the community by participating in local events and fundraisers that make Malvern a strong and vibrant place to live, work and play.

“Imagined Here. Crafted in Malvern, PA.” is Locust Lane’s motto. Penn State is where the co-owners met over 25 years ago, and Locust Lane is the street where they lived together during their time as students in State College, PA. This is where they first imagined their partnership, and Malvern is where it all came to fruition. During his time at Penn State, co-owner Jason Cartwright was heavily involved in THON, including acting as the Overall Chair 1996. Co-owner Bryan Brockson was also heavily involved in THON and acted as Reception and Family Relations Chair in 1996. Bryan is also currently giving back to the local Penn State community as a member of the Penn State Brandywine Campus Advisory Board. Tom, Bryan, and Jason's love of Penn State has a strong influence on everything they do. The alumni and Locust Lane host Penn State tailgates to bring local alumni together, co-host events with the Chester County Chapter of the Penn State Alumni Association, and even craft specialty beers to continue to support THON as alumni.
