Each year, one exceptional Club members is selected to be the Youth of the Year, serving as an ambassador for the Boys & Girls Clubs of North San Mateo County's youth, as well as a voice for all of our young people. These individuals have exemplified our mission and demonstrate the impact the Clubs make in transforming lives and unleashing potential. Former Youth of the Year recipients have achieved success in a variety of industries, including entertainment, politics, business and sports.

Meet Reginald our 2019 YOY Winner
Reginald, or “Reggie,” joined BGCNSM when he was in the 2nd grade. When he first began attending, he was shy and nervous as he didn’t know anyone at his new school or programs at the Club. Reggie wasn’t sure how he was going to make friends, but he was really close to his Mom and siblings. However, by the time he was in the 5th grade, Reggie was well known as the funny, smart kid. Growing up at the Club has given him the opportunity to become an individual who loves to laugh and build things. A high school freshman, Reggie attends Orange Park Clubhouse in South San Francisco and volunteers his time leading by example, while encouraging young members to be curious and explore new things!
