In partnership with
WRHI's Toys for Happiness and The Herald's Empty Stocking Fund, the United Way of York County, SC, served hundreds of families this holiday season. Due to the generosity of our community, with your gifts of time, toys and money, you brought joy and smiles to more than 1,900 children's faces.
Over 250 volunteers gave more than 1,100 hours of volunteer service. We can't forget the many bikes donated thanks to generous donors like Williams & Fudge, Duke Energy- Catawba Nuclear Station, and Comporium employees, along with many others.
Each year we reach out to the community and each year your spirit of generosity continues to grow. Happy New Year to each of you and our heartfelt thanks for making a difference!

Free Income Tax Assistance
The Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (
VITA) program provides free income tax preparation assistance to individuals and families with a household income of $54,000 a year or less. In addition to providing free tax preparation, VITA works to ensure everyone in the community receives all of the tax credits and deductions for which they are eligible.
MyFreeTaxes is the only free, online, national tax filing product offered by a nonprofit, because United Way is committed to ensuing that people can easily and accurately file their taxes to receive the refunds they deserve. If your household earned $66,000, or less in 2018 you can file both your federal and state returns for free.
