"I want to make sure that I leave something for the next generations... somebody has to know what the west and what this land was like. If all we do is develop it, they'll never know."
-Sandy Panagini, Conservation Easement donor

CONSERVATION EASEMENT SPOTLIGHT:
THE GRANBY 5
In December 2007, a group of neighboring landowners came together to place conservation easements on their properties - an area now known as "The Granby 5." This group of easements includes the Barnard Property, Blue's Haven, Brooks Property, Panagini/Southard Property, and the Sharp Property. As a whole, the Granby 5 protects 208 acres and each easement encumbers water rights.
The Granby 5 is an inspiring example of what we can do when we come together for land and water conservation in Grand County!
