Dear Nick:

The Gloria M. Silverio Foundation, 501(C)3, A Safe Haven for Newborns is continuing to save newborns from the ultimate in infant abuse — abandonment — which tragically has become an escalating crisis all over the world. An unexpected pregnancy, little to no resources, no support, and fear are some of the reasons women all over the world abandon their newborns; which often results in the death of those innocent babies. Through our educational programs, direct assistance, and 24/7 multilingual, confidential helpline, 362 precious Safe Haven newborns (354 in Florida, seven in other states and one precious newborn in the country of Honduras) now have a future and lots of love with their forever families; in addition, over 5,000 women have been helped in their time of need. Our goal is to assist them in having a healthy pregnancy, a healthy baby and to offer referral resources for counseling, parenting, health-related issues, adoption, shelters, baby items, abuse issues, and the confidential Safe Haven for Newborns option.  

In a perfect world, there would be no need for an organization such as a Safe Haven for Newborns. But our world is far from perfect, and all we can do is try to make our piece of it a better place. We cannot save every infant and guide every troubled mother, but we can make a difference for as many as possible, and WE WILL NEVER STOP TRYING.

We do not charge for any of our services. As many of you already know, we rely mainly on the generosity of individuals, donors, and our annual fundraising events. Every year we celebrate the lives of these special Safe Haven children at our annual Gala. This year our 10th annual Gala will take place at the Hilton Downtown Miami on Oct. 22, 2022. The highlight of the evening will be hearing the moving and heartfelt testimonies of Safe Haven babies now growing up. It is so heartwarming to see them grow up physically, intellectually, physiologically, and spiritually.

It is my sincere hope that we can count on your support for our life saving mission, either through sponsorships, table, program ads, tickets, auction items or with a donation. We know that there are many worthy causes to support, and I am very grateful for the trust and confidence expressed by so many. Thank you so much for your consideration. Your support will enable us to continue giving the most innocent and helpless among us, the newborn, and a chance at a future.
