Happy Summer!
This summer at Aldea has been very fun and exciting. In the past few weeks we held our Donor Appreciation Party, worked with Ole Health to collaborate on our care for our foster youth, put on our very first Teen Summit and we set a date for Aldea's Art Fundraiser that we are eager to announce!
Your Donations Improve Lives & Create Bright Futures!
SAVE THE DATE
October 17, 2019
Mark your calendars to join us on October 17th at the Archer Hotel in Napa for some wine and appetizers as we auction unique art created on barrel heads by Aldea clients. We hope you can take part in this event to help fund the programs that assist the children and youth in our community!
WE APPRECIATE YOU!
Aldea Staff, Board, Donors and Volunteers came together on June 22nd for a Donor Appreciation Event. Each year we want to recognize those that have given Aldea the most support to help us deliver on our mission to improve lives and create bright futures. Our guests were also able to hear from our CEO Kerry Ahearn on her first six months with Aldea and the impact we are having in our community.

ALDEA & OLE HEALTH WORK TOGETHER TO BETTER ASSIST FOSTER YOUTH
Aldea's Treatment Foster Care team presented to the Ole Health  Fairfield staff on the needs of foster children when entering care.

Many foster youth come from an environment where they have experienced physical and emotional trauma making collaborations between providers key to providing quick access to medical professionals. Our offices are in the same building which makes it easier for the foster parents and children to get the help they need.

We appreciate the support from Ole Health for this vulnerable population.

ALDEA'S FIRST TEEN SUMMIT
On July 20, 2019 Aldea hosted its first Teen Summit open to all teens in Napa and Solano counties and it was a huge success thanks to everyone that participated! We had vendors from  Travis Credit Union Solano Community College Napa Valley College V.O.I.C.E.S. Napa /Solano Solano Pride Center Subway  Fairfield , and Fairfield PAL providing our teens with information and resources available to them. We also had a panel of former foster youth from V.O.I.C.E.S. as well as a youth from Aldea's Transitional Housing Program who shared their stories, answered questions and gave advice to the youth. We had presentations and discussions about important topics from finances and money management to sex education and making a difference with your voice. Many of our teens shared that they had a great time and we definitely look forward to creating something special again next year!

Thank you all who helped this wonderful Teen Summit come together and to  First Christian Church of Suisun  for allowing us to use their space!

2019 DÍA DE LA FAMILIA
Aldea participated in the 2019 Día de la Familia event on July 20, a celebration organized by the Napa Valley Farmworker Foundation for fieldworkers and their families .

This event brought together 50 community and social service groups and gave us the opportunity to inform 2,500 attendees of the many resources and services we provide in Napa County. This street festival took place outside of St. John Catholic Church and offered attendees free tacos, goodies from the 50 organizations, live mariachi music and folk dancing for all to enjoy.
