Evan Smith is founder of the Texas Tribune, a pioneering nonprofit, nonpartisan digital news organization. He is also the host of "Overheard with Evan Smith," a weekly half-hour interview program that airs on PBS stations countrywide.

Dr. Ray Perryman

Ray Perryman is President and CEO of The Perryman Group, an economic research and analysis firm based in Waco, Texas. He has authored several books, over 400 academic papers, and more than 2,500 trade articles.

Don McBeath

Don McBeath is Director of Government Relations for the Texas Organization of Rural and Community Hospitals (TORCH) which is the official association for the rural hospitals of Texas. He serves as a liaison with state and federal lawmakers and agencies for 158 rural hospitals in Texas.
