Grand Opening Ribbon Cutting at The Cut

Tuesday, November 20 | 4 PM

177 Main Street, Gloucester

An enterprising group of local investors, musicians, hospitality, and entertainment professionals, all with roots on Boston’s North Shore, will be joined by Gloucester Mayor Greg Verga on Monday, November 20th to “cut the ribbon” officially opening The Cut, a multi-purpose entertainment venue and restaurant on Main Street in downtown Gloucester, MA. Following the ceremony at 4pm, which includes a reveal of the marquee announcing the inaugural shows, doors will open to the public at 5pm for the restaurant portion of the facility.

It is that time of year again!

Do you have a community wide event that should be included? If so, please contact us at info@capeannchamber.com.(Note: please do not submit individual member events – these may be posted on our Event Calendar through your member login).

Old Sloop Presents Leslie Mendelson

Friday, November 17 | 7:30 - 10 PM

First Congregational Church of Rockport

Leslie Mendelson’s timeless musicality and evocative songwriting cuts a wide swath. All Music writes that Leslie evokes “1970s songwriter influences in the vein of Carole King and Carly Simon.” If Leslie’s only collaboration with a legendary musician was Jackson Browne, it would be a worthy point to celebrate. What’s truly telling is that Leslie has also drawn the attention of The Grateful Dead’s Bob Weir who recorded a duet with her on Roy Orbison’s standard, “Blue Bayou,” while no less than rock royalty The Who invited her to open two shows at Madison Square Garden.

John Murray, his Gloucester Universalists followers, and how they influenced the guarantee of religious liberty in First Amendment to the US Constitution.
