Save the date! April 28 is our "Share Your story" day when Institute of Museum and Library Services will spotlight what makes Redwood City Public Library a contender for the 2021 National Medal for Museum and Library Service!

NEWS FROM THE LIBRARY FOUNDATION
Redwood City Library Foundation is holding a Virtual Fundraiser on May 20, 2021 - World Bee Day!

Support the Foundation by buying a ticket to our virtual fundraiser. Each ticket holder will receive a bee-themed "goody bag." Your donation makes library initiatives like the Makerspace in the Library possible, and keeps the Bridging the Digital Divide, Career Online High School, Redwood Shores Interpretive Center and Traveling Storytime initiatives humming and buzzing for our local community! 100% of your donation is tax-deductible.

PROGRAM HIGHLIGHTS
THU APR 15, 6:30pm
Join the discussion on how antisemitism adapts and manifests today, how it intersects with other forms of hate, and how we can join together to confront the rising hate against our communities.

The Redwood City Youth Literacy Council is calling all kids ages 8-11! Come spend a virtual afternoon with them lost in a magical world of chocolate, candy, and golden tickets.

MON APR 19, 6:30pm
Join us for poetry readings featuring Angela Narciso Torres, Naoko Fujimoto, Dilruba Ahmed and Karen Llagas. Moderated by Aileen Cassinetto, Poet Laureate of San Mateo County.

WED APR 21, 11am
Join RCPL librarians for a virtual Early Learners storytime filled with recorded stories, activities and tips on early literacy. For families with children from birth to 2.

THURSDAYS, 4pm
It's game time at the library! We meet online every week to kick back and play all sorts of games. No registration required. No pressure to participate. For teens grades 6-12.

WED APR 21, 3pm - material pickup
SAT APR 24, 2pm - event
Join us for an Earth Day exploration about Reducing Our Carbon Footprint. This program is provided in partnership with the American Chemical Society.

LIBRARY SERVICE UPDATE
Below is a list of services available at this time.

  • Read more, worry less. We are fine free!
  • All Redwood City Public Library locations are currently closed until further notice.
  • Downtown Library bookdrops are open to accept returns. Branch Library bookdrops are open on Curbside Service days. Go here for hours.
  • Curbside Service for picking up holds is available at the Downtown Library, Redwood Shores Branch Library and Schaberg Branch Library.
  • Computers by Appointment is available at the Downtown Library on Monday and Wednesday, 2pm-5pm.
  • Our events are online! Check our calendar here.
  • Meeting room reservations are cancelled until further notice.
  • Borrow eBooks and eAudiobooks; use streaming TV, movie, and music services; and access digital subscriptions to newspapers and magazines here.
